Today is my last day of maternity leave so I will be back reporting on education news soon!
Looking forward to connecting with everyone after 4 months off the work clock (and now on a baby’s clock, which doesn’t let me sleep more than 3 hours in a row)
The "who wakes up debate" is odd bc the answer is different for each family
I did it all on leave when my baby was waking up 2x a night and going back to sleep
Back at work, my husband and I take turns on difficult nights
Do what's best for your situation

Peak parenthood is doing the robot dance to the beat of my husband making fart noises to get the baby to stop crying
It worked, but what dignity is left
my husband has been very purposely to see if the young boys at church want to hold our baby bc he said he always wanted to but guys just don’t get offered the opportunity to hold/care for babies before they have their own
“I feel like this would be easier if our baby was ugly but he’s so cute and sometimes that alone overloads my brain” -my husband
How does having a baby make me a better writer? The sleep deprivation ensures I read over everything at least three times or else I miss dumb mistakes
I decided baby sleep advice is 80% bogus
same sleep routine with this baby for two months. he went from needing rocked fully to sleep to going into his bassinet wide awake and falling asleep on his own almost overnight
Babies just do what they want
of course the first topic back had to be student loans

Today, ED added a low-earnings disclosure to the FAFSA, letting students see school outcomes before enrolling. More transparency means smarter choices, better results, and stronger accountability. More from @Lexi_Lonas (@TheHill) ⬇️ thehill.com/homenews/educati…
Working with the youth at church is not for the weak after an 11 year old sees you for the first time with a noticeable pregnancy bump and says “you’ve gotten so big!! I miss the old Lexi!!”
The biggest personality switch I’ve had of my marriage is becoming a diehard Cubs fan after watching zero baseball before
