A Promise Made, A Promise Kept: Securing Staff Welfare and Academic Stability in Our Tertiary Institutions. For too long, unresolved agreements and industrial disputes have disrupted academic calendars, forcing students to spend five, six or even seven years completing four-year programmes. Following our landmark ASUU Agreement, today we took another decisive step towards ending this cycle. I am pleased to have unveiled 12 Federal Government Agreements with Academic and Non-Academic Staff Unions across universities, polytechnics and colleges of education, covering ASUP, COEASU, SSANU, NASU, NAAT, SSANIP, NOTSUP and SSUCOEN. Like the ASUU Agreement, the 12 agreements introduce the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA) and Consolidated Non-Teaching Tools Allowance (CONTTA), effective 1 January 2026, with strengthened oversight to ensure full implementation. Beyond staff welfare, these agreements will support uninterrupted learning, more effective institutional management and improved academic stability. Together with our proposed Nigeria Higher Education Ranking and Assessment Classification (NHERAC), we are laying the foundation for stronger, more accountable tertiary institutions. I commend the unions and the negotiating committee, chaired by Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, CFR, and thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his leadership in making this milestone possible. Our goal is simple: better-supported staff, better-run institutions and students who graduate on time. A four-year course must be a four-year course. A promise made. A promise kept. #RenewedHope #NESRI #EducationReform

Goodman’s Academy was faced with the challenges of providing a library and ICT centres for its pupils, students and staff to improve their academics until Dr Isokari Francis Ololo came to the rescue and provided a library centre with books, as well as an ICT centre with laptops and desktops donated by Books2Africa. Goodman's Academy received a shipment of 2,500 books and 25 computers. They were sponsored by the 1 Million Books Fund. Happy Children’s Day to every child across Nigeria! 💚🤍💚 Today, we celebrate the voices, dreams, and limitless potential of our young people. Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT, GCFR, we remain committed to ensuring every child has access to quality education and the opportunity to thrive. Ensuring the safety, protection, and wellbeing of every Nigerian child is a top priority of the Federal Government, as we continue strengthening efforts to provide safe, inclusive, and protected learning environments for all children, regardless of background or location. As part of this year’s celebration, we welcomed our young Honourable Minister of Education for the Day, Dera Osadebe, who stepped into leadership with confidence, curiosity, and brilliance. We also held a special roundtable with children from different schools and backgrounds. Their voices were inspiring and a powerful reminder that children are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are stakeholders of today.

Today, I was glad to launch the Digitalisation of Public Schools Project with the deployment of Interactive Smart Boards to public basic education schools across Nigeria. This milestone was made even more special as I launched it alongside Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr. Aisha Garba Mohammed; the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Lagos State; the LASUBEB Chairman; and the Southwest SUBEB Chairmen. Together, we are showing what partnership in action looks like. 🤝 This initiative, driven by the Federal Ministry of Education and implemented through UBEC, is part of our commitment to make classrooms more engaging, interactive, and effective for both learners and teachers. It also aligns with our National Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI) and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR — shifting Nigeria from a resource-based to a knowledge-based economy. Through this initiative, we will be distributing over 1,000 Smart Boards to Federal & State Basic Education schools nationwide — equipping teachers with innovative tools and empowering learners with digital skills for the future. This is not just a project — it is the beginning of a new era of joyful, technology-driven learning that empowers our teachers, excites our pupils, and strengthens our education system.

PRESS RELEASE WE DID IT FOR LOVE; THIS IS A LOVE PROJECT….FIRST LADY OLUREMI TINUBU Says National Library project not politically motivated as project raises N20.7bn so far. First Lady of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu has announced that her 65th birthday fundraiser towards the completion of the National Library realized N20.7billion. She stated this while having lunch with the press at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Senator Oluremi Tinubu explained that the birthday account, Oluremi@65 Education Fund will remain open till December 2025 to receive more donations from willing Nigerians towards the completion of the project. “In his 1925 Essay, “The New Frontier” Gebran Kalil Gebran, a Lebanese Writer, Poet, Philosopher and Artist wrote, I quote “Are you a politician, asking what your country can do for you or a zealous one, asking what you can do for your country? If you are the first, then you are a parasite, if the second, then you are an oasis in a desert”. “ That is why if we take our baby steps welldoing, before long, things will begin to shape up for our country”. “We all have to rise up, play our parts in the building process.A grain of sand and a drop of water makes a mighty ocean”. First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu also debunked claims that her 65th birthday anniversary fundraiser is politically motivated. She pointed out that as a teacher, as well as the impact library had on her life while growing up, she was motivated to call for the donations towards the building of the National Library. “What is wrong in doing well or trying to build our country - if I could assist the post war building process in Liberia by donating the Oluremi Tinubu Elementary and Junior Secondary School in Monte Serrado County in Liberia, what is wrong in drawing attention to some of the areas of need in our beloved Nation”. “This is not the first time I have raised funds for causes close to my heart. For my 45th birthday, I raised ₦50 million to complete the National Sickle Cell Foundation Center, which has since become fully operational. For my 50th birthday, I raised ₦200 million for the New Era Foundation and other charities”. “I have played my part in this project, and believe Nigerians can raise the funds needed to complete the library. This is not just a project but a national treasure that will serve generations to come,” The First Lady disclosed that as at 2pm on Tuesday 23rd September 2025, the fund had realized N20.4 billion and was still counting, noting that the account will remain open till December 2025 before it is shut down. Senator Oluremi Tinubu said the signatories to the account are the Minister of Education and the Chief Librarian of the Federation, insisting hers was to help drive the funds.

It’s okay to be finished but the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is for sure not finished with the good work of making Nigeria great and prosperous! Her excellency is also not relenting in playing her part as she has always done. As she said, “We all have to rise up, play our parts in the building process.A grain of sand and a drop of water makes a mighty ocean”. And to reiterate again as Her Excellency has said, the National Library project is not politically motivated, “This is not just a project but a national treasure that will serve generations to come. ”
