After finishing training, I was inundated with “Hey, Jimmy, do you want to…”
… join this committee
… write a book chapter
… help with this study
… teach students in X or Y
I felt so much pressure to say yes.
Until I created my Hell Yes Policy

I was traumatized by responding to @DGlaucomflecken’s cardiac arrest & my interactions with the healthcare system during that time. I went to the Quiet Place (link in bio) and needed a bridge to walk out. These are the words that built my bridge. May they build one for others.
Honored to share this follow-up piece at JCF from @LGlaucomflecken
May you find her words & guidance as impactful as we do

Yesterday my partner moved away to prepare for starting residency in a new city. I’m so proud of him to start the next phase of his training, but also heartbroken that we will be apart for the next 4 years. It’s so sad that medicine can tear people apart like this… 1/2

As partners of physicians, we know that every aspect of medical training & practice impacts us too! With July 1st right around the corner, take a moment to read this @MedicalPost article highlighting Match Day & the residency journey from the perspective of a #medspouse.👇👇
