In 2020, a Silicon Valley startup raised tens of millions of dollars on a simple premise: monetizing loneliness through online gaming companions. But behind the pastel branding and venture capital backing lay a far darker reality.
For four years, E-Pal’s top-earning creator built an empire of manipulation by allegedly draining clients for over $100,000, sabotaging rival creators, and exploiting a platform that couldn't afford to stop her. She stayed on top for four straight years without consequences.
But how did the system let it happen? This video is one hell of a rabbit hole.
Watch it now to find out everything you need to know about this story.

In light of recent news, fans of Jun Maeda (51) have urged him to keep fighting and not give up, with some asking him to seek more active treatment following his throat cancer diagnosis
Megumi Ogata (Shinji Ikari in 'Evangelion' and Ayato Naoi in 'Angel Beats!') shared a heartfelt message:
"It's still too soon for you to become a resident of the world you create."
"Please keep striving. But take care of yourself along the way, okay? Please."
Jun Maeda (the creative mind behind Clannad, Charlotte, Angel Beats, Heaven Burns Red, and much more) is currently hospitalized after being diagnosed with pharyngeal cancer
Instead of pursuing active treatment, he plans to pursue palliative care in order to conserve his strength to devote himself to his creative work as "he felt there was little time remaining in which he would be able to continue creating"
For people who are maybe worried, I'm fine and safe. But I must admit, the situation in my country frightens me and makes me want to cry.

I'm in favor to stop to paying artists the full amount upfront or upon booking; instead, prefer paying only half of the initial price until there is proof that the artist is working on the commission, and with regular WIP to show the progress and if it need edits.
