Josie is one of @FAAntisemitism’s co-founders. She’s one of the most intelligent, thoughtful and knowledgable people I’ve ever met. Her writing (I’ll post examples below) is lucid and incisive. She deserves WAY more followers.
You’re stripping the Bund from its historical context and using one group of Jews to dismiss what Jews are saying about antisemitism now. The Bund is not a permission slip for Antizionist hate.

Jeni is untrue to her principles, a hypocrite who’d tell Jews they don’t experience prejudice but would never do it to Muslims, because she’s scared her in group will turn on her, as they did on me. She’s also dishonestly quoting me out of context. Shame, I used to respect her.

I’m going to show you a Labour MP doing something which might spoil your day. Some of you might be traumatised. Some of you may not recover until late tonight. Then you will have a night terror. Why? @TufnellHenry WHY? 🫣

They were probably just drunk and gave away their stuff and then regretted it in the morning. Men who invite women to their house are probably the type to make false accusations anyway.

A “minor” shouting “Allahu Akbar” has been shot dead outside the Israeli embassy in Serbia after attacking a guard with two knives. Serbians have just ousted Vucic as leader after almost a decade but they really have no idea what the newly elected ‘Student List’ will bring instead. Serbian politics are very complex and this is not a simple overthrow of the hard right by the left. (The missus is the expert not me!) Immediate and extreme violence targeted against Jews in response to the election in Serbia, and at the time of the Israeli election is very worrying. jpost.com/diaspora/antisemit…

This is the difference between men who (allegedly) rape women and the women they (allegedly) rape made explicitly clear. They dare not show their faces. She is determined to show hers even though she doesn’t have to. “Shame must change sides”. Men must know that when they are exposed for sexual violence against a woman it is not the woman who must hide - and due to the examples set by Giselle Pelicot and Joanne Young she may very well not. Brava Joanne Young. You are outstandingly brave. Phillip Young her husband has already admitted raping and drugging her. Four more men are accused. The details of what was done to her are truly horrific.

Filia. Indefensible behaviour.

They spied on me and my partner when we attended, kept tabs on us. Told certain attendees that my partner was at the disco. A white middle class straight woman was warned about a black, working class lesbian in attendance. Not that our identities should mean anything, in an ideal world. In any kind of feminist community I want to build. But, by Filias own ideology... It turns out your identity only matters when you hold appropriate views. When you obey the left. If you don't, you are the evil other. And what's worse - they pretended none or this happened.

This is not “drama I can do without”. This is exposure and criticism of really problematic behaviour which puts women at risk of harm. Correct and appropriate even if it makes you uncomfortable.
Replying to @janeclarejones
By "captured by the far right" she means that working class women got involved in the struggle for sexed based rights. The riff raff thought they could speak on their own terms and use words like woman rather than her favoured term "female people." When her crew tried to cancel women for attending an event to discuss two tier policing it failed because everybody had just about enough of this behaviour. When her mates at Filia tried to exclude women like me, @AjaTheEmpress, @JeanHatchet and @LightninLex it rebounded on them, because "the movement" said "hang on, this is a bit much, what did they actually do." Because it turns out women would much rather conga with "facists" than read a ten tweet word salad essay by the crone and her coven.

So - women have, according to Jones, an “obsession” with securing our bodies and an exaggerated, unjustified desire not to be sexually objectified…..what an interesting take. Her assertion appears to be that women guarding - oh sorry - OBSESSING about keeping themselves safe from rape, and not wanting to be sexually objectified and treated like blow up dolls is akin to a mass-murderers racism fueled, blood lusting justification for murder based on his extremist, nationalist beliefs. That is a very psychotic U-turn that I would not expect from someone who purports to be a feminist. Unhinged.

Insightful addition by Lorelei: xitter.cf/hatpinwoman/status/186…
This thread made me go and revisit Gender Critical Disputes because the two are related. Particularly the Rickford piece which was heavily influenced by Jane and her work. I also remember she was part of writing it Scap’s thread explains the origin of the ridiculous conflation of women who hold a firm boundary against trans identified men with white nationalists & fash And the equating of a feminist and/or humane declaration of female sovereignty (our right to control and ownership over ourselves) to the military or sexist argument of men who see women as a territory to be owned Rickford wrote “Femalism, in contrast, is a form of identitarianism, aiming to demarcate an ‘in-group’ (female people) from an ‘out-group’ (males who identify as trans), with the in-group defending it self against infiltration by the out-group. Imagining ‘woman’ as a pure territory that is at risk of being damaged through contamination, femalism aims to build a fortress around the identity ‘woman’ so that no man can get in and harm the territory. Inside the fortress is womanhood in its pure and true form, and the way to protect this is to exile those who would enter and pollute the identity. This is the same structure taken by ultra-right-wing identitarian ideologies, including white nationalism and religious fundamentalism. Proponents of both of these have been involved or associated with women’s activism in recent years… …White nationalism is based on imagining the nation as a sovereign territory that, in order to be safe and secure, must be securely bounded at its borders. Whatever is outside the nation is imagined as a threat to the welfare of what is inside. This requires imagining the ‘inside’ as having some unique quality or character that makes it meaningfully different from what is outside, and thus that the protection of this quality or character is dependent on its purity from contamination by what is outside.” But women aren’t concerned with purity, we’re concerned with safety which is best achieved by firmly excluding all men from the category of woman Women don’t want to build a fortress, they want rational boundaries They aren’t worried about being contaminated. They are worried about the violence male inclusion leads to The conflation of women’s bodily integrity, boundaries & sovereignty with nationalism and radical right ideologies is the same logic TRA’s use when they suggest our exclusion of men is akin to American racial segregation It inverts the perpetrator, & perpetrated against, to make men victims of women’s common sense Similarly this quote is telling “Femalism, like all radical right ideologies, sets out to dominate and eradicate the invading ‘other.’” The idea women in this fight are trying to dominate or eradicate trans identified men also inverts the relationship of who is trying to dominate, erase, & exercise power over who It rewrites women as villainous for asserting unequivocal lines. And that idea obviously loops back to JCJ’s work on the importance of “penetrable being”. Any form of asserting hard lines can be reframed as bad through that position. Even when the lines asserted are beneficial, sensible or vital This finally explains a LOT of intraterven conflict It explains why Jane et al are actually the ones who feel contaminated by others in this fight talking to people, or associating with people, they personally wouldn’t. Without the hard lines of separate personhood, & with constant penetrability, we’d all be some kind of association soup There is something in the inability to see or understand the boundary between oneself & others that lends itself to toxicity It lends itself to the attempt to control others & to react as emotively as though their actions are also yours. Everything becomes an extension of you & it is related to you. That leads to the reduction of other people’s humanity &difference That sadly also explains (to me) Jane’s mistreatment of women she disagrees with

Having been puzzled for so long, by behaviour and statements by Jane Clare Jones, especially within this feminist space, I read some works of hers and yeah, they explain a lot (links to papers at the end of thread)🧵

5. This is a LOT of Butlerian waffle which sounds awfully like the MRA argument that it’s women talking about rape that is worse than rape, or even that rape is normal and unavoidable and that the harm is connected to discussing, condemning and wanting to prevent and end rape instead. Bonus points for framing the rape victim as an aggressor through weaving militarism into this argument, and thus equating the perpetrator and the victim on the page. Then segue into reenactment of trauma which is used to bolster the victim blaming instead of frank exploration of the risks of being re-victimised, especially if personal safety isn’t possible (such as in cases of homeless women, prostituted women and similar).
