Our findings suggest that MAX1-dependent strigolactone biosynthesis influences not only when leaves senesce, but also how they respond to prolonged darkness. Interestingly, the mutants maintained normal vegetative rosette architecture.

These findings highlight strigolactone biosynthesis as a promising target for improving postharvest longevity in leafy crops. Thanks to all our collaborators who contributed to this work! 💪👏🫶🙏

Being a PI brings its share of personal challenges. I’ve had one particular grant proposal on my mind for years. Getting it written and submitted felt like a huge hurdle (before thinking about the outcome). Now it’s in. Celebrating a small but very personal win. Mind over mind!💪

Looks like there is a new NSF postdoc fellowship specifically for people interested in training at the intersection of AI x Bio. I'd be happy to sponsor someone who would like to work in our group on evolution+AI related stuff nsf.gov/funding/opportunitie…

When a #plant flowers, it doesn’t just make flowers - it changes the way it builds itself. New growth axes emerge and #branching patterns change! How is this transformation coordinated? Excited to share our new @PNASNews paper with @Zohar__Meir doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2605727…

Lettuce is harvested before flowering, so we asked: could we manipulate strigolactone biosynthesis to delay leaf senescence without unwanted branching? That motivated this study, but we discovered much more along the way. doi.org/10.64898/2026.08.27.…

Great day at the Israeli Plant Proteostasis meeting! Fantastic talks on autophagy, leaf senescence, and ethylene- 3 topics that sound like they’re all talking about the same thing, but turned out to be completely different science🙃 Plus our first ‘Beyond the Bench’ discussions!

As the Israeli Plant Proteolysis Supergroup meets this week, we wanted to create space for conversations beyond the bench. We designed discussion cards to help researchers share stories, debate , and connect with new colleagues. Had a great time putting these together 😍

An inspiring day at the Wolf Prize in Agriculture Symposium at the Faculty of Agriculture. Privileged to hear from exceptional scientists whose discoveries have shaped modern plant biology and agriculture. Especially meaningful to host them all in Israel during these times. 🙏🙏

At a conference, I found myself telling an early-career researcher not to mistake a prof.‘s silence for arrogance, sometimes it’s just introversion. This book captures the quiet power of genuine 1-on-1 conversations and the impact they can have. An inspiring read 🫶
