I’d rather get 3 stocked on Yoshi’s than have to look at the putrid neon green floor of Pokemon Stadium 2 one more time while my opponent empty hops in place 120 feet away
At least I’m being approached
We need more interaction in Ultimate
The meta is so unbelievably stale

oh my fucking god
Just got out of the movie theater.
Holy.
Fucking.
Shit.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don’t think a movie like this will ever be made again.
Best documentary I’ve ever seen (it honestly feels weird even calling it a documentary) and instant Best Picture contender. Just go watch it.

And @IGN 's response was to delete their tweet and not the articles. I dont respect them or @Dexerto at all, absolutely shitty imo (and wasnt dexerto's first time doing this, they did it last year to me too). Half-truths constantly just for clicks, fuck the other persons life or the full/true story, right? I'm sure they feel 0% bad too.

The biggest mistakes I made with YouGame and P+ were honestly communication and a lack of consideration. So I want to apologize again to the P+ and Brawlback communities because of that.
I announced a 4-week-old prototype as if it was a finished product instead of what it really was: An early alpha build in need of a lot more testing, refinement and community input to become great.
And I didn’t publish the repo and make it clear before announcing that it was a fully open source, clean fork of dolphin that used a totally different rollback architecture to Brawlback (although this architecture and a few files of code have now been adopted by Brawlback as well.)
Things probably would have gone a lot better if I had.
I still believe that AI is an incredible tool for building games that will bring about a revolution in gaming, helping us build games and experiences we only dreamed of as kids, but its default creative output is slop and it takes a lot of human refinement, taste, vision and testing for it to become great.
People’s feedback is huge in helping with development and quality, but it was wrong to not be more transparent and respectful of people's time and experience. Early build testing can be messy and frustrating, so the communication should be very clearly targeted to people who are interested in dealing with that messiness and contributing their time and energy to an unpolished project so that it can become high quality enough to bring everyone else in.
So that's the main thing I'm changing moving forward. Very clearly labeling early builds, getting groups of internal testers to try things out before alpha releases, and only making big public announcements/events for builds that have already been well proven to work reliably.
Can I be honest for a sec?
Regarding LLMs in gaming, I feel more confused than ever. And I would like my peers and other people who are familiar in this field to chime in.
It’s barely been a week since I made my post about distancing myself from a vibe coded project made by my friend in Smash. I even said “AI has no place in gaming”.
After I made that post, I was reached out to by multiple colleagues in the space and people hired full time in software development. They educated me severely on the topic and I feel dumb now for my earlier sentiments.
I was informed by my colleagues that it is now the norm to do 90% (and this is low estimate apparently) of all your coding with AI assistance or vibe coding. 75% of all new code at Google is made by AI and engineer approved.
The vast majority of all the apps we use now are updated or maintained with AI coding - I imagine that also goes for Twitter, the very app you’re reading this on.
So I figured okay - it’s here to stay in all software development - but where does that leave video games?
I saw the posts from Epic Games, XBOX, and other publishers that seem to embrace the new era instead of rejecting it.
In the last week I’ve been sent about a dozen different projects like this one that dissect and reintegrate Melee in multitudes of creative ways.
One of them is even a build of Melee that runs natively at 120FPS and one of them simulates the feeling of a CRT almost perfectly.
Some of them feel silly and useless, like low effort projects someone probably gave a single prompt and an ISO of Melee to build. Actual slop.
And yet some feel like legitimately useful things that the community or people practicing could benefit from.
I’m doing my best to navigate what is clearly a rapidly changing sector, especially when we regard the question of “Are Video Games Art?”
And since they clearly are art, does that render AI in its development a bastardized amalgamation of what’s been “learned” from people with actual original ideas?
Or is it strictly optimal to use AI in game development because games ARE software and therefore a necessary tool to wield in this day and age?
I am making this post because I need more guidance on this topic and I feel open discussion on it might be the best way to do that.
this community can be so cruel
M2K has autism, and as much as you want to say “it’s no excuse”, no one is perfect and new circumstances can happen which can be things to learn from. This is one of those cases and he has learned from it.
He has no family that wants to take care of him
He relies on the few friends he has to be able to live anywhere
and often those living conditions aren’t ideal
He was told he shouldn’t go to the event, and he listened and agreed.
please have some grace and don’t bully another member of the community into further mental decline
Made a post about my thoughts on things. Ngl im turning off replies cuz of the types of mean msgs many ppl sent me that i dont want to see or deal with. I wont be streaming or around for a while (maybe weeks idk). Thx for those who do care appreciate you
