I’m so happy to announce that my books have won another award! 🏆❤️ My first three children’s books, which are part of a series inspired by my life and journey, have earned the Silver Medal (Second Place) for Best Nonfiction Book Series at the 2026 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards! What makes this recognition even more special is that these awards receive submissions from authors and publishers around the world. To have our books recognized on this level is truly an honor. I never imagined that one day, my life story and the mission of spreading kindness, one lawn at a time, would become award-winning children’s books. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Johanna Fink in Alaska, whose breast cancer journey is a powerful reminder of why early detection matters. ❤️🎀 In March 2026, Johanna went in for a routine mammogram, and just TWO HOURS later, she received a call asking her to return for additional testing. A biopsy confirmed Stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma. Imagine going in for what you think is a routine appointment, only to have your entire world turned upside down within days. Johanna actually discovered her diagnosis through her online medical records before her doctor called. Suddenly, she was overwhelmed with questions, fear, and uncertainty about what would happen next. Thankfully, an incredible medical team stepped in, guided her through the process, and helped arrange her care. Within weeks, she underwent surgery. ❤️ What really touched me was Johanna’s appreciation for the medical professionals who helped her through such a frightening experience. With no family history of breast cancer, she never expected this diagnosis. Her message to others is simple but powerful: “Take a big breath. Get your annual mammogram. Wait for the results, ask questions, and surround yourself with support.” 🙏🏾🎀 Johanna’s story reminds us that sometimes the smallest appointment on our calendar can turn out to be one of the most important.
