A first job is about more than a first payslip.
It's about opportunity, confidence, purpose and belonging.
As the Scottish Parliament debates young people's participation in the labour market today, let's remember that meaningful work is about more than economic growth.

Really interesting perspective from @alexmassie there is a definite move by MSPs to a #notthisbill position. Is it ever possible to have a bill that fully protects the vulnerable in the #AssistedDying debate? How many mistakes are acceptable?
Until recently I thought assisted dying legislation was almost certain to pass in Scotland (and perhaps in England too) but that's no longer the case and there's a good chance the bill will be rejected...

Under a decision made by @SP_HSCS this morning, I would be eligible for assisted suicide.
The committee rejected placing timescales on prognosis. This means anyone with an illness that could result in their premature death is eligible. (1)

Green MSP Patrick,
Harvey's amendment to introduce "safe access zones" around places carrying out assisted suicides - effectively banning suicide prevention - is shocking, but can we really be surprised?
Once they banned free speech for pro-lifers outside abortion facilities, they could do so anywhere.

Patrick Harvie has tabled an amendment to the Assisted suicide bill that would make it an offence for GP surgeries to have posters up that say "Are you feeling suicidal", or for anyone living nearby to try to help or have a conversation with someone planning to end their lives.

Enjoyed reading this interview between @ShonaHaslam & @kmckenna63 about the good work of @LogosScotland.
Totally agree that Christians in the public sphere must stop focusing on reacting to events. We must seek to influence long-term policy trends to promote the common good.

Anyone who thinks faith is irrelevant in the 21st Century needs to take a look at Scotland.
The truth is, you can't EVER banish faith to a corner - it's futile to try, it defines every single one of us... even those who profess to have no faith (itself a faith position).
