I was a kid with no art school, no studio and no budget and living in a 3rd world country that doesn’t have a big industry for art and entertainment. But I still chose to learn and make art and made a living out of it. These people always have to lie about hypotheticals. 🤡
As a self taught artist, this is utter bullcrap. I've learned everything I know from the art community and what they put out there for free. This pathetic attempt to paint artists as evil and LLMs are the "savior" is just another strawman and quite far from reality.

Notice how it’s always the people who made a name at whatever they do that look at LLMs as a positive thing or look down at people who are against it. Yeah we get it Tim. It doesn’t affect YOU directly so why care right?
I’m sure we all could afford this fever dream of a monstrosity when LLMs run everyone out of a fking job and crashes the economy and everyone becomes lobotomized to the point that they’ll allow this on public roads. Add this to Elon’s grandiose false promise list. 🤡🤡

I hate to break it to you but every kid in schools do
They use ai, they understand ai, these are kids who are growing up with ai
You provide absolutely nothing they cant do themselves
And the kids who use ai don't care about art, the kids who care about art don't care about YOU
AI bros’ brains work like LLMs too. They can’t tell Apples from Oranges. 😅
We started using Freehand in 1988 and Photoshop in 1990. The students, the professors or the professionals in the industry didn't think it was "cheating". We were doing digital art BEFORE Photoshop dropped - and it still wasn't "cheating".
You might not remember TARGA-PAINT but we do - 1984. That one was pretty expensive.
But Deluxe Paint dropped for the Amiga in 1985 and that one was a BLAST.
As they say "you had to be there".
But here's the thing - neither Photoshop or digital paint programs were engineered by corporations using media by 10s of thousands of creatives without permission or compensation to compete with those same creatives in the marketplace. Neither of those "technologies" where automated at an massive industrial scale. Neither one is being shoved into everything or in bed with governments.
At the very least can we agree there is a difference of scale and application?
Most artists (including me) don’t charge this much 😅. But sure, if you wanna pay a monthly subscription to a shitty company that is failing, for a mediocre commodity, go ahead 🤣. All the comments on this thread are just a couple of bad experiences labelled as common.
