Excited to finally share what we’ve been building: Meta VR Glasses. Our team has spent a long stretch at Meta shaping how you interact with VR Glasses. As someone who's been in this industry a while, this feels like a genuine breakthrough moment. Can’t wait for you all to experience it. • 5K Infinite Display built on micro-OLED panels at 37 pixels per degree, with support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos immersive spatial audio. • Navigate with your hands and eyes, or use your voice; Meta AI lets you search, ask questions, and get things done hands-free. • A cinema, a courtside seat, a workspace and a console, all in a pair of glasses that weigh ~100 grams. • The first IMAX Enhanced certified VR device ever, and one of the only ways to watch select films in IMAX’s exclusive expanded aspect ratio at home. • Disney+ 3D experiences and VR Enhanced Cinema; 3D media catalogs from Peacock, HBO Max and Paramount+; and the streaming apps you love. • A front-row seat with 180-degree Immersive Sports from ESPN. Over 100 immersive live sports events a year once Meta VR Glasses launch. • A massive multi-screen personal workspace. Connect your Mac or Windows PC • Over 75 hands-first games at launch, the full Meta VR catalog of thousands of titles with Touch Plus controllers, and XBOX Cloud Gaming. Coming Spring 2027. tfw unc bob age mogs you and is more productive without sacrificing code quality by gherkin test maxxing
Replying to @ori_pomerantz
I’m significantly older than you. I started coding in the late 60s. My current strategy is to not read any of the code written by my agents. That’s the only way I can take advantage of their productivity. What I do instead is to surround the agents with extreme constraints. Unit tests, gherkin tests, QA procedures, quality metrics, mutation testing, test coverage, and a plethora of others. In the end, I have very high confidence in the code they produce because they’ve had to run the gauntlet of all of my constraints and tests.

Token maxxers are being driven insane alright. "Just wait until normies find out AI doesn't just write boilerplate emails, but boilerplate code, too!" Gen AI tools aren't a new level of intelligence, just automation of menial, repetitive tasks many believed required intelligence.
It's not a unique observation but AI is going to hit normies like a ton of bricks. The tiny minority of people maxxing out their usage of agents and Claude Fable can see it and it's driving us all insane. Normies think it will never get beyond writing boilerplate emails

Steve Jobs pioneered this style of design language with Aqua back in 2000, whether you personally like it or not. Jobs passed in 2011, Apple released Flat design in 2013 under Jony Ive. Jony leaves in 2019. Alan Dye starts work on the Aqua inspired Liquid Glass, releasing in 2025
Liquid Glass was a mistake.

It's Moore's Law that died. So, we inevitably optimize to squeeze more from essentially the same old Silicon yearly. There's more innovation in Rendering, AI, etc recently than ever before as raw Hardware advances crawl, Software (+ HW Arch) must carry the acceleration of Capital

in Unity6 and above that restriction has been lifted. The file name no longer needs to match the class name. You can also have multiple MonoBehaviours in a file, but you will be required to attach to game objects programmatically: gameObject.AddComponent<MyOtherMonoBehaviour>();

repost @loopervfx on IG human detection classification and removal with depth occlusion. but it doesn't work well on my funny shoes. not in the dataset i guess :) made with @touchdesigner

Because Apple visionOS didn't fail, the only thing that flopped was the shared delusion of grandeur drummed up by Hype peddlers and Fan kids of the Attention Economy that Apple entering the space would usher in some Messianic XR gold rush, rather than seeing it as steady progress
If Apple failed so hard with the Vision Pro, then why is everyone releasing their own version? 😗

My gf getting the ick: "I thought there were libraries for this. You wrote all this from scratch but it does the same thing as the code everyone else uses for free? It took you a week to make this weird colored Triangle, because Twitter told you that using an engine is uncool?"
watching my gf get the ick as I explain what a code library is. "I thought you wrote it all yourself? you're just using other guy's code? like legos?"

Shadertoy is proudly abbreviatory from roots in retro demoscene "code golf" culture. Nothing wrong with enjoying it as a hobby, but the practice spread so far it is confusingly lauded as virtuous or optimal in modern real-world scenarios where code golf has no benefit, or worse.

I found that the new Unity Hub 3.13 actually does have an option to create a Local project not connected to Unity Cloud, you have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of this menu to find it. (No need to create it connected to Cloud and disconnect it afterwards as believed.)
Replying to @KenneyNL
We can at least right click and disconnect it from unity cloud here. Annoying that there isn't this option to just keep it local on project creation though.

We can now utilize the often dormant Ray Tracing hardware on GPUs for physics and other computation via Ray Queries / Inline Raytracing with compute shaders. In this simple example running in Unity6, over 1.5 Million rays are dispatched by 60,000 particles in real-time to compute

not when you're Apple ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Demoing the Vision Pro to non technical people is a nightmare. I have to Airplay it to my phone and literally hand hold them through everything. Not made to show to others for sure.
