The Mapuche wonder and castle were a bit of a hassle; there i was missing examples of monumental architecture to pull from other than particularly large rukas, mounds and chemamull statues, so some terrain was incorporated again. The castle consists of rukas on reclaimed inca foundations

Concepts for the muisca castle and wonder. The sun temple at sogomoso was set pretty early but the castle took a little digging. Somehow a Timucua village etching made its way into my references, which threw me through a bit of a loop. the spiral palisade variations are a result of that. The new ones were made referencing the accounts of fray Pedro Simon, it took a few re-reads to really nail it down

Viking fortified walls! I think the 'stone' walls were more fun, and funnily enough these were based off of visborg and the danevirke walls- but the danes dont get the upgrade for them

Now here's a fun one, and they turned out pretty great. These 'stone' earthen walls I'm happy we got away with. The campaign team seems to have had fun with them too and the Hedeby campaign map looks absolutely cozy. The palisades down the scarp of the wall towers should connect at every orientation

pretty fun to make little worlds at 3 am with a couple brush strokes and a horrendously broken sleep schedule

Heres the Tupi wonder and castle alt. concepts. Iguazu falls might not be a man made wonder, but we could have gotten a giant thatched oca instead of a cool animated wonder for the Tupi

concepts for the new wooden fort introduced in the last chieftains. something not too specific that could be used anywhere from the migration period up to the colonial era. I even got to get this one started in 3D funnily enough someone writing the wiki noticed the inspiration I pulled from cossacks/american conquest. I do love the work put into those old sprites, with construction and destruction levels and everything

not too much to say here, but a rare visit to the dark age is always a nice surprise. These concepts were relatively painless; and i certainly didnt think the settlement would have as much of an impact on gameplay as they did end up having. The only thing I didnt particularly like about the settlement was the building palette reduction it ended up causing

Here's the jomsviking from the main menu, and why not get a look at his concept too design originally had me give him dual axes instead of the spear and shield he has now, interestingly enough. I wonder how that would have played out statwise
