Some hun dan said the Alliance is fascist. Fascists got one tinpot dictator, parades and race purity fei hua. Alliance just a boot on your neck - weren’t no Right boot or Left boot neither - just pushin’ “unity” across the ‘Verse. Unification War was bad enough - don’t need no culture war gou shi. This boat flies on love, not old grudges from Earth-that-was.

“We’re thinking out of the box on ways we can partner with private industry, recognizing that the government doesn’t do a good job in staying in front of and on top of all of the emerging threats that we constantly face,” said Kristi Noem, US Secretary of Homeland Security, today in San Francisco at RSAC 2025. “And it’s not just ransomware or malware that’s being utilized — now they’re showing and proving that they can hack into our critical infrastructure and control them and shut them down.”

I got a great question today: "What's the difference between a VHOST and a subdomain?" Let me highlight the answer ❤️ 🔸 Subdomains are defined at the DNS level – like test.example.com. DNS maps them to IPs. 🔸 VHosts (Virtual Hosts) are web server configurations – used to serve different sites from the same server/IP. ➡️ Multiple VHOSTS can run on the same IP (e.g. 183.12.23.12), even same port (usually 80/443), differentiated by domain name. ➡️ Subdomains can point to the same or different servers/ports, depending on DNS config. So, subdomains route you to a server. VHosts tell that server what to serve once you're there.

Cybersecurity Lessons from BSG's 2003 Reboot: Supply Chain Attack: Cylons exploited a backdoor in the fleet's navigation software, highlighting the need for secure software development. Network Risks: Temporary connectivity led to malware injection, akin to real-world DoS or ransomware. Air-Gapping: Galactica's offline systems survived initial attacks, proving isolation can be a strong defense. Good sci-fi like BSG shows us future threats. Vigilance in every phase is crucial. #Cybersecurity #SupplyChainSecurity #SocialEngineering #LessonsFromSciFi #BattlestarGalactica #20YearsOfBSG
