Don't miss.
It's difficult to overstate how important it is to defeat the proposed Conversion Practices legislation.
The Conversion Practices Bill - criminalising the culture war ?
@KenMacdonaldKC and @TimOwenKC discuss this and other UK Law and Politics issues on this week’s episode of Double Jeopardy.

This was a dramatic development.
Last week, Adam Doyle denied having mentored Dr Sam Hall, the GP who was busily prescribing PBs and/or cross-sex hormones to hundreds (at least) of adolescents after referrals from the Tavistock for PBs had been stopped.

The remote room is open again:
J ..but just counsel and Mr Doyle here
J we're looking at some addit docs and then some brief cross examination of AD. AD, wld you mind introducing the docs and then we'll swear you in.
He was recalled this afternoon to answer further questions from the claimant's counsel on how that came about.
Congratulations to @tribunaltweets for being sufficiently on the ball to catch the hearing.
It may be a good moment for me to observe that the fact that a hearing takes place in private does not in itself render what took place at it confidential.
This is an interesting idea. What's special about sex characteristics that our culture thinks its ok to destroy or maim them?
This week a friend asked me: “If teen girls were caught up in a culture-bound mass psychosis, wishing to have their healthy eyes surgically removed, would we still be debating it? Or would we have stopped it right away?”
I think it shows our Puritan roots still haunt us. Human sexuality remains the great taboo. We can remove or damage a young person’s capacity for sexual function, and the people who object are the ones accused of being “fixated on genitals.” Naming the loss is treated as more shameful than causing it.
"I think it is an astonishing and audacious power-grab to announce your (ungrammatical) pronouns and expect others to use them. I don’t think anyone is entitled to exercise that kind of detailed control over other people’s speech."

It can be framed as harrassment iirc. There was a post a couple of years on the legalfeminist site which goes into various scenarios (by @loudbonnet, I think).
Issues can be sidestepped, tediously, by not using pronouns. (I do this to avoid friction over a troon I know).

One year ago today the Darlington nurses were front page news heading into a three-week employment tribunal with the NHS. The Trust went on to spend £1.2 million defending an unlawful policy that allowed men who merely identify as women into female staff changing rooms.
A year later and the NHS has now published guidance putting biological sex at the heart of policies governing hospital staff facilities.
A victory for women, girls and men who believe in the law, truth, justice and basic dignity.
Thank you for all the support ❤️

Why did I blow the whistle?
Because these interventions don’t work. Period.
How do I know this?
Because our patients told us so.
Because in the privacy of the doctor’s office, where no therapist is judging, where no teacher who changed their name is listening- they knew.
They knew their health was worsening, they were tired, still sad, still lost, their labs were worsening.
Sometimes they knew in a matter of months, sometimes years later. But they knew.

Hunter's story is nothing more than the story of gay conversion therapy committed under the banner of trans rights. He was never even given the chance to grow up and settle into his sexuality.
It's shameful that the world celebrates this homophobic crime.
