Worth listening to, I agree. But note that Mr Gove talked of badging and labelling. These are branding approaches to standards with a danger of puff and hype. What's at stake (steak?) at present is real standards on health, enviro, animals and information. Put them in law!!

This highlights how food supplies concentrate on supply side data and, partly because retailers refuse to feed back their data, does very little about demand side. Great for annual harvests but terrible for short cycle products where most wastage occurs.
