In an #APAStyle paper 🔹 each work you cite should appear in the reference list, and 🔹 each work in the reference list should be cited in the body of your paper at least once. Download our free in-text citation checklist here: 🔗 apastyle.apa.org/instruction… #AcademicWriting #APA7

This is a question we get a lot, and this is a great reminder - keep spellings exactly as they appear on the original source. Have questions about APA? Drop by the Library, or get connected with the Writing Clinic and Peer Tutoring! Learn more here: loyalistcollege.com/life-at-…
Because references reflect the information of the sources, they sometimes include variations in spellings and other details. Example: Even if your paper is in American English, in a reference don't change a British spelling within a journal name or in an article title. (1/2)

Truth and Reconciliation Week is coming to a close, but our commitment to truth and reconciliation, and to learning and listening, should always keep going. To help all of us to keep learning, we're sharing one of our favourite resources - Native-Land.ca (1/2)

This incredible interactive and ever-growing site is one way we can all learn about the Peoples and languages from the lands we live on, and about the treaties that guide us all. Every time we visit Native-Land.ca we learn something new, and we hope you will too. (2/2)

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a time to learn and reflect. One of the ways we can do this is by listening to the words of survivors. These are just a few of the powerful memoirs from residential school survivors that you can find in our library.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation honours First Nations, Inuit and Métis Survivors of residential schools, the children who never returned home, and their families and communities. Established as a result of Survivors' advocacy and in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action 80, September 30 became a federal statutory holiday in 2021. For more than a century, Indigenous children were forcibly separated from their families, communities, cultures, and languages through the residential school system. The harms caused by these institutions did not end when the last federally run residential school closed in 1996; their impacts continue to be felt by Survivors, families, and communities today. #DoSomething to move reconciliation forward in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: •Read the 94 Calls to Action •Turn on your radio on September 30 and tune in to A DAY TO LISTEN, or browse past episodes at adaytolisten.ca •Watch DWF LIVE on September 30 to hear Chief Dr. Robert Joseph’s full interview for A DAY TO LISTEN #NationalDayforTruthandReconciliation #EveryChildMatters #ReconciliACTION #TruthAndReconciliation #OrangeShirtDay
