BREAKING NEWS | A West Gang member has been killed in a deadly confrontation with police in Inanda this evening.
Known as “Sniper,” he was linked to many cases of murder, attempted murder, armed robbery and kidnapping.
He also featured in a recent viral video showing several young men shooting randomly in KwaMashu.
Members of the Inanda SAPS Task Team, assisted by SA Tactical Enforcement, found the man in the back room of a property during a crime intelligence-led operation.
He allegedly tried to shoot the officers, but they escaped without injury.
One firearm has been recovered, along with an iPhone that was taken from a kidnapping victim.
Three victims were rescued by the same team in Mzomusha last month after a ransom demand.
