AI is getting better at finding weaknesses in software — and the same technology can also help us find and fix them faster. That creates an interesting race. AI attacking systems. AI defending them. Humans trying to stay one step ahead of both. It sounds like the beginning of a science-fiction story where everything goes terribly wrong. But I’m more optimistic than that. Every powerful technology humanity has created has brought new risks alongside new ways to protect ourselves. AI may become an extraordinary cybersecurity threat, but it could also become one of our strongest tools for defence. The future doesn’t have to end with machines defeating humanity.
