Idk if this is a hot take but, I heavily prefer paying artists for arts after seeing a wip instead of up front. At least I know that they’re actually working on it, with me not fearing waiting months or even a year, wondering if they either forgot or just don’t wanna do it.

If an artist charges you 400 dollars for a comic and expects you to pay upfront for it, (which i did more than a year ago) I feel like that said artist should also refund you in one payment too. I'm sick and fuckin tired of being treated like a zero interest loan service.

Worse. Knew someone who used to be a small artist. I greatly admired and supported them in the past for a long time until they decided to attack me and my OC earlier this year. Pulled my support almost immediately and removed them from my socials. Never again.
