This week, we celebrated the installment of one of our faculty members in an endowed chair! Dr. @geoffchang was installed in the Bill and Connie Jenkins Endowed Chair of Historical Theology and Spurgeon Studies. We're so grateful for Dr. Geoff Chang and for the ways he has invested in training the next generation of Christian leaders #ForTheChurch.

How should Christians today learn from the Christians of the past? In the first episode of Faculty Lounge, our faculty dives into the conversation on Theological Retrieval, considering its role in Baptist life and how to approach it wisely. Join Drs. @pj_schreiner, @pjgurry, @drjohnmeade, @drandrewmking, @RonniKurtz, and @samuel_parkison for a thoughtful discussion on engaging the past to serve the church today: bit.ly/4B9vz0c

Ministry isn't only what happens from the pulpit. Hear from @philnewton901 as he reminds pastors not to underestimate the impact of being present in the everyday moments of life. Whether it's a hospital visit, walking with a family through loss, or celebrating the birth of a child, these simple acts of care leave a lasting mark. Honor your pastor this Pastor Appreciation Month for his faithful service to your church at bit.ly/4yurjXs

Did you know that revising Bible translations is not a modern practice? Long before modern translations like the ESV, NIV, and NASB, ancient Jewish communities were revising earlier Greek translations of the Scriptures, seeking greater accuracy and clarity as their understanding of the Hebrew text developed. In this article from the @TextandCanon Institute, @drjohnmeade reflects on the legacy of these early revisions and what they can teach us about the history of Bible translation, and even why we continue to revise translations today. textandcanon.org/the-legacy-…

The Legacy of the First Revised Bible Translations | John Meade

The modern impulse to get the Bible right in translation has its roots in the Jews who revised the Septuagint.
