For the average consumer, they won't care if it's GKC or standard cart. They probably gone digital anyway so it really won't affect the long term profits like you think. And before you say, they could close the download server, they still haven't for previous devices yet.

They could but if every other platform costs you $1 or less to publish on, and folk want you to charge the same amount while losing $15 or go with GKC $3 as a business which one would you go for?

That's still extra costs, though consoles now are basically the same with series s/x and ps5/pro. It's still funding that would be needed. But as I said it depends if the company gives enough to make it worthwhile. Doesn't really happen now.
