Deputy Leader of the Libertarian Party of Canada πŸ—½πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Libertarian Candidate of Record: Battle River-Crowfoot Liberty, Family, Independence

Jimmy, from Carbon, spent 10 months in jail, not for committing a crime, but for defending his family from a robber breaking into his home. The criminal walked free. Jim paid the price. When the government fails to protect us, we must have the right to protect ourselves. Canada needs a Castle Doctrine the right to defend your home without fear of prosecution. It’s time to put law-abiding citizens first and criminals last. Retrieved from the Battle River-Crowfoot Drumheller Debate - 2025-08-05

Just a point of mention here, I am in no way attacking all of the Elections Alberta staff that were present at the location. I saw a lot of people that were doing some really good work and put in almost as much work as I was doing, with no breaks as well too. However, the incompetence, especially from the senior staff, was on full display. And I'm fully ready to call them all out on it.

I just got off my shift of being a scrutinier with the UCP for this referendum and let me tell you there has been some major incompetence on display today with Elections Alberta. Not only were they criminally understaffed, and they were rushing things through but that was causing issues with long lineups and the staff we're not checking things properly like ids, and we're just waving people through. I caught three different people on PR getting through the registration desk and we're about to be handed the ballots. The site supervisor was also yelling and berating staff publicly, and was actively swatting them, which I would call physical assault. I ultimately accept the results that come from tonight. But to accept that Elections Alberta is competent enough to run this referendum is an absolute understatement.

One thing this referendum has accomplished regardless of the result: Albertans are talking about Confederation, constitutional reform, provincial powers and what our relationship with Ottawa should actually look like. That conversation was overdue.

I am devastated to hear the news coming out of Wainwright tonight. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the fire. If there is anything my family or I can do to support you during this difficult time, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Taken 15 minutes before the "Separatist Rally" is scheduled to begin. Clearly, all those Twitter bots and trolls aren't showing up. πŸ˜‰
