What makes Larry David so funny?
1. Strong opinions are funny. Lukewarm ones aren't.
2. All good comedy comes from character.
3. Good comedy comes from a character's ignorance or stupidity.
4. Your character's goal should never be to make the audience laugh. The character's goal should be to say something truthful, from their own perspective.
5. So then... why is Larry David funny? He's not trying to make people laugh. He just shares his strong opinions about the world, which happen to be funny.
Here's a clip from my interview with @MJaminWriter. I linked to the full episode in the reply tweet.
