Today, Dennis Francis 🇹🇹 was sworn in as President of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly 🇺🇳. Mr Francis was elected in June and will hold the position for one year.

Today we concluded the CARICOM Conference on the Human Impacts of Autonomous Weapons with a declaration signed by #CARICOM member states.
This declaration establishes a strong regional position on regulating #KillerRobots ahead of October's #UNGA23

In the margins of the ACCP, @CImpacs convened a meeting of the Standing Committee of Commissioners of Police on 26 May 2023. We were honored to have with us the @INTERPOL_SG who took the time to understand the challenges being faced in the Caribbean.
The partnership between @CImpacs and @INTERPOL_HQ continues to grow and strengthen each day. Thank you @INTERPOL_SG for participating in the Standing Committee meeting and for our very productive bilateral
We have been busy!! We all have been working especially hard in the last two weeks to ensure that we meet the mandates set for us. The meeting of the Standing Committees of Chiefs of Immigration and Comptrollers of Customs was convened on 16-18 May in Jamaica.

I was delighted to host H.E. Arif Keshani, High Commissioner of Canada to Trinidad and Tobago. Discussions focused on key areas of security cooperation. His visit comes at a time where @CImpacs values the cooperation with the Government of Canada.#SAFECARIBBEAN #CARICOM
