Long time ago i had a crush on someone, so I got to be their friend, we shared a lot of interests, we talked p much all year, then they started dating someone. I was sad at first but continued being friends with them then i realized i liked this better. We're still good friends.

They eventually broke up with that person and by all means I think we could've given dating a chance, but I ended up loving our friendship so much that I just let it stay that way. Im glad i did. They helped me get into art.

Point being, I'd say just give a good friendship a chance. If it escalates, then it escalates. If it doesnt, then sometimes it's nice to have a really good friend, less chance of a breakup. Who knows? Either way there was still cyanide in the last meal you ate.
