Conservative MP for Chingford & Woodford Green Promoted by M. Goldie of 105c Station Road, Chingford, E4 7BU.

In 2004, I was asked by Tony Blair to help investigate the rise of antisemitism in Britain. We made recommendations then, yet more than 20 years later, we are still confronting the same hatred. Every generation seems to rediscover the problem, make recommendations and then watch as antisemitism erupts again. The Green Party’s disgraceful conference motion is part of that problem. Isolate them, blame them, attack them, ban them. We have seen where this leads before. Every school should teach Pastor Niemöller’s warning: “Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out, because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me.” History has warned us of the consequences of silence. It is not enough to condemn antisemitism after it erupts. We must challenge it wherever it takes root, whoever is responsible, and ensure the next generation understands why. Silence is not an option.

I joined Every Hospice Matters at @10DowningStreet to deliver their petition calling on the Government to make hospice funding a national priority. Sir Nic Dakin MP, Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, received the petition on the Prime Minister’s behalf. As Patron of @HavenHouseCH Children’s Hospice, I know just how vital the care and support hospices provide is to patients and their families. Hospices are an essential part of our healthcare system, yet too many face serious financial pressures. They cannot be left struggling to survive. The Government must recognise their importance and ensure they have the sustainable funding they desperately need. Every hospice matters. Support the petition: change.org/p/make-hospice-fu…

This Labour Government has got its priorities dangerously wrong. While welfare spending rockets out of control, they are cutting £2 BILLION from the Army's frontline equipment. An absolute disgrace. telegraph.co.uk/politics/202… At a time when the threats to Britain are greater than they have been for decades, Labour is stripping away vital military capability. The first duty of any government is the defence of the nation. Yet Labour refuses to get a grip on runaway spending while finding cuts to our Armed Forces. What sort of government thinks that is acceptable? This is a government that has lost control of spending and is now putting Britain's security at risk. Our Armed Forces deserve far better than this dangerously incompetent Labour Government.

Andy Burnham @10DowningStreet is losing control of his government. Labour is a rabble, fighting amongst themselves, and the Prime Minister is too weak to do anything about it. This is a government without leadership, without unity and without the courage to take the difficult decisions. Unless that changes, I believe this Labour government will fall, and very soon. Cabinet collective responsibility is not optional. Ministers who deliberately attack the Home Secretary should be sacked. End of story. You simply cannot run a government if you haven't the strength to deal with your own Cabinet. Meanwhile, welfare spending is rocketing, the public finances are in deep trouble and Labour won't face up to the need to reduce spending. Instead, we have a government arguing amongst itself, unable to agree on the most basic decisions.
“This Government will FALL.” Sir Iain Duncan Smith HITS OUT at the Government, accusing Andy Burnham of being too weak to be Prime Minister. @jkyleofficial @MPIainDS

The IRA were terrorists, not soldiers. Their campaign of murder and bombing was not a war of equals, and no amount of historical revisionism will ever make it so. Labour’s Northern Ireland Troubles Bill risks allowing the IRA to rewrite history while British veterans face the prospect of being dragged through investigations decades after serving their country. Where is the accountability for the IRA? Where are the answers from the Irish Government about those who fled across the border, the support they received and the supply of weapons? I served in the British Army. My friend, Captain Robert Nairac, was murdered by the IRA. His body has never been recovered. His family still deserves to know what happened to him and where he lies. The IRA cannot be allowed to portray its campaign of terror as justified by the Good Friday Agreement. Peace does not retrospectively legitimise murder. There is no moral equivalence between terrorists and those who served to uphold the law. This Bill is a betrayal of our veterans and of families still waiting for the truth.
“This is a terrible bill and a terrible act.” Iain Duncan Smith SLAMS the Troubles legacy bill, following the Northern Ireland Secretary’s insistence that it is not an amnesty for soldiers. @jkyleofficial @MPIainDS

France is in flames (yet he wants to rejoin the EU). Trump is selling out Ukraine, cosying up to Putin again A cost-of-living crunch is looming this winter, especially fuel bills. He still hasn’t told us how or when defence spending will reach 3% GDP. Inflation is rising once more, as are interest rates. Russian forces are threatening our infrastructure, especially undersea data and energy links. The Strait of Hormuz remains closed, our Gulf allies are under attack. And PM Burnham drivels about this!! It’s like the opening sketch from Saturday Night Live.
TikTok star Andy Burnham is back on TikTok displaying all his talents as an overblown local councillor, addressing the serious situation in Europe and how to stop the boats. Only kidding. He's talking about how to be good boys and girls on public transport. On TikTok 🤓👍

Universal Credit was designed to make work pay, simplify the benefits system and help people escape dependency. That principle remains as important today as it was when I introduced it. But successive governments have allowed policy decisions to undermine its purpose. During Covid, warnings were ignored, money was handed out with insufficient checks and we are now living with the consequences. We have created a system where millions are trapped on benefits, too many young people are written off before their working lives have even begun, and the welfare bill continues to spiral. The answer is not simply to spend more money. It is to restore the moral purpose of work. Work is about far more than a wage. It brings independence, dignity, self-respect and the opportunity to build a better life. That must once again be at the heart of welfare reform. Britain is now living with levels of worklessness that would once have been treated as a national emergency. Yet because so much of it is now recorded as incapacity rather than unemployment, we have gradually come to accept it as a fact of life. dailymail.com/news/article-1… That cannot continue. We need a new generation of welfare reform that restores opportunity, breaks the cycle of dependency and helps people back into work.

Unbelievable and shameful.
Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone." He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population." He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory." "They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this." He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

The explosion in child disability benefits is a betrayal of my moral mission. There are now more seven-year-olds receiving disability benefits than 50-year-olds. That should stop us all in our tracks. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10… The welfare system was meant to support those in genuine need, not risk consigning another generation to a lifetime of dependency. Children with the most severe disabilities must get the support they deserve. But simply handing out benefits without tackling the underlying problems is a betrayal of those children and their future. Welfare reform was always a moral mission, not just about saving money, but transforming lives. We must be more ambitious for our children. We cannot afford to write off another generation.

I’m in Edinburgh and being asked a lot of questions about ITV’s Reform expose. The reported comments show yet again why we’re not doing deals with Reform. We want Reform voters back, not Reform politicians. Reform voters are being let down by the people who claim to represent them. Many of these people were the ones who let them down in the Conservative Party. We are now under new management. These people caused a lot of problems and is why I say Nigel Farage has been doing my spring cleaning. These problems will keep coming for Reform. Just as Farage is being investigated, so is Robert Jenrick, and so is Richard Tice. These problems will never end because of the kind of people they are - they don’t care about high standards of conduct. That is why I am showing those voters who want to defeat Labour but left the Conservative Party that it’s time to come home. We are under new management, and you deserve better than this.

Five years ago today, Sir David Amess was murdered while doing what he had done for almost 40 years: serving the people who elected him. He never stopped showing up for them. On the day his life was taken, he was there once again, listening and helping, just as he always had. Today we remember a much-loved colleague and friend. Above all, our thoughts are with his wife and children, who carry his loss every day.
