Minister Darragh O’Brien announced the final winner of the Tonn Nua Offshore Wind Auction as Helvic Head, a joint venture between @ESB and @Ørsted. The 900MW site will power almost 1m homes and save 1.8m tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.

We focused on the most pressing issues and the progress achieved on the #EUOceanPact with emphasis on the upcoming Ocean Observation Initiative, the implementation of the U.N. High Seas Treaty (BBNJ), the evaluation of the common fisheries policy, the EU's current stance on deep-sea mining and the status of EU progress on Marine Protected Areas.
