It's so obvious
Kalshi, Polymarket and other "prediction" markets are psyops when it comes to politics. They are meant to shape opinion, not reflect objective reality.

The sweet elderly black woman working the ballot drop told me "we're all out of I Voted stickers but you have beautiful eyes and hope you get home safe, Sugar" Its important to remember we all lose during election season but this guy (me) chalked up a big win tonight.

"Only in New York". There's crazy shit that happens everywhere. Trailer parks, inner cities, small towns, coastal cities, etc. But there's just some things that are like... ok yeah... thats a New York story. Like when I first moved to NYC working at MSG, my boss calls us all into a conference room. He had a story for us. A personal one. He had a PowerPoint up that his wife had made that morning. Something that happened to both of them at 2am that evening. While asleep, they heard a thunderous bang right outside their bedroom window. They lived atop a bodega and a flat roof was right outside their window. They found a man in his boxer briefs laying motionless. Alive but unable to move. He jumped from the apt one floor above them where he decided it was his best option to exit the building as the husband of the lady he was banging walked in on them. An hour later, cops and paramedics were slogging through my boss's apt to retrieve the adulterer from the roof and take him to the ER on a stretcher. There's a lot more in this story i won't elaborate on here but that's a NY story. My boss's wife made a PowerPoint documenting the events. Hilarious.

"Only in New York" It's not literally that interesting, wild, bizarre or uniquely fun things happen in New York. It's that these random stories or antidotes are not so random. It's that you're guaranteed to have one. It's the function of 8 million residents + 4-5 million commuters from all economic statuses/backgrounds jamming onto an island everyday. And not every story is extravagant For instance. One Saturday morning in Central Park, I sat at the café at the conservatory water chilling with a cup o' Joe and my dog. Sitting in the sun. Late summer/early fall. When the park is calm: no tourists, vendors, bustle. Ellie Goulding was on the Great Lawn doing sound checks and a mini rehearsal for a concert she was doing that evening. She was playing a piano/accappella version of "Anything can happen". The sound and her voice filled the entire park. Like that scene in Shawshank Redemption. It was like a private concert for all of us. Thats what only in new york means

The best thing you can do for yourself to prepare for the next 1-5 years is the following: - setup 1Password, LastPass or some other password keeper - get your family familiar with multi factor authentication

My current views on investing: - Government will never stop printing money, so bitcoin / gold / land will all do well for 2 decades - AI is drastically underestimated and the best AI companies are significantly undervalued - Shorting individual stocks is very difficult, so I wouldn’t try it but the biggest indicator of whether a company survives or not is the internal speed of iteration now - Bonds shouldn’t be in the conversation for anyone under age 50. Picking up pennies in front of steamroller - Venture investing & public markets will blend in next 5 years, so private valuations will rise due to lots more capital chasing a few great companies - Young people should look at assets & markets that Wall Street hasn’t adopted yet. This used to be bitcoin/crypto, but now private markets, prediction markets, compute markets, and data brokering - every investor should be sovereign. You can use a financial advisor, but you have to know your numbers, your strategy, and your risk exposure. AI makes this too easy (Silvia .com) - Everyone arguing over interest rates, oil, and other historical macro factors are not wrong, but these just have less impact today (thx @jvisserlabs) - agents are coming for finance and things are going to rapidly change. Don’t fight it, embrace it and use to your advantage. - Tesla / SpaceX merger will happen and create largest company in human history. My simple rule is to never bet against Elon. There are many more, but what are yours?

Wild that we get to be alive in this era. Ideas can turn into finished work in hours now. Relationships that would have been impossible decades ago can start in a day if you're willing to meet face to face. If that doesn't fire you up, check your pulse.

Its important to know that step count vs all cause mortality rate are inversely correlated.. as expected. But more important to note that benefits begin to plateau between 8-10k steps. Better said they flatten out. The curve is steep from 5-10k steps. Meaning its WAY better to get 10k than 5k. After 10k you have to walk 2x as much to get the same INCREMENTAL benefits as you did from 0 to 10k. 5k = 30% less risk of death relative to the genpop (similar age group) 10k = 55% less risk 20k = 70% less risk It takes 5k steps to reduce risk by 25 percentage points (5➡️10) But it take 10k steps to reduce risk by 15 percentage points (10 ➡️ 20) So 20k is still better than 10k. But you have to work 2x as hard for diminishing ROI. This is the nature of fitness, athletics, weight loss. Maximizing ROI** is doing the basics. And its the easiest to attain. Maximizing benefits is HARD. Even if you're just walking. Let alone competing or challenging yourself.
