End HPD collaboration with ICE immediately
Another ICE enforcement incident has left another person hospitalized in Texas.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the Harris County Sheriff reported that an ICE agent struck a man with a vehicle after he fled a traffic stop on foot. The man was hospitalized with a suspected broken leg.
This comes just 11 days after ICE issued new guidance restricting vehicle stops, prohibiting vehicle pursuits, and requiring activated body cameras during stops.

I wrote this essay in a stream of consciousness in my diary on Oct. 7, 2024, trying to make sense of how a year could have passed without such horror being stopped. In that writing, I realized my own complicity, and my duty to act.
