"True success is intentional. It is built on focus, discipline, intellection, and integrity."
As a Computer Scientist and IT Consultant, I have come to understand that in today’s fast-moving digital world, the key to sustainable growth lies in "continuous learning, critical thinking, and character-driven leadership".
I draw strength from the words of my mentor, Lt. General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (Rtd), CFR, Ph.D, who consistently reminds us that:
“Nothing can replace hard work.”
Indeed, hard work pays, and I’m a witness to that reality.
To my fellow youth, this is a call to action:
Let us rise beyond mediocrity and embrace purpose. Let us cultivate discipline, develop our minds, stay focused, and lead with integrity. Your background is not your limitation, your mindset is your power.
Let us not just chase opportunities, let us build value. The future belongs to those who prepare for it.

COMMENDATION TO LT. GENERAL AB DAMBAZAU, PhD, NIGERIA’S CHARGÉ D’AFFAIRES
I wish to extend my sincere commendation to Lt. General AB Dambazau, PhD, Nigeria’s Chargé d’Affaires, for his continued commitment to advancing Nigeria’s diplomatic interests and strengthening the country’s engagement with the international community.
The meeting of the Group of African Ambassadors in China (GAAC) to articulate a common African position ahead of the forthcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) underscores the importance of strategic diplomacy, collective engagement, and constructive dialogue in promoting Africa’s shared interests.
Such diplomatic engagements provide an important platform for Nigeria to contribute to discussions on trade, investment, security cooperation, infrastructure development, technology transfer, and sustainable development between China and African countries.
Nigeria’s active participation in these engagements remains essential to strengthening bilateral relations, promoting mutually beneficial partnerships, and ensuring that Africa’s priorities are adequately reflected in future cooperation frameworks.
Congratulations to Lt. General AB Dambazau, PhD, and the Nigerian diplomatic team for their contributions to advancing Nigeria’s interests and supporting stronger Africa-China relations.
May these efforts continue to yield meaningful outcomes for Nigeria, Africa, and future generations.

COURAGE BEYOND RANK: MAJOR GENERAL INUWA MAKES HISTORY WITH LANDMARK PARACHUTE JUMP
A Powerful Demonstration of Courage, Professional Excellence and Leadership by Example
In a remarkable demonstration of courage, discipline and professional excellence, Major General Muhammad Nura Inuwa, Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), Jaji, Kaduna State, has reportedly achieved a historic milestone by successfully undertaking a static-line parachute jump from an aircraft on Wednesday, 21 October 2026.
Described as the first Nigerian Army Major General to accomplish this feat, the achievement represents more than a daring descent from thousands of feet above the ground. It reflects the enduring spirit of military professionalism, the importance of continuous training and the courage to embrace demanding challenges in the pursuit of excellence.
For a senior military officer entrusted with shaping the skills, discipline and operational readiness of soldiers, such an accomplishment sends a powerful message: leadership is not defined by rank alone, but by courage, competence and the willingness to lead by example.
The successful jump underscores the significance of physical preparedness, mental resilience, confidence and mastery of military skills. It also reinforces the principle that professional excellence requires continuous self-development, regardless of position or years of service.
As Commandant of NASI, Major General Inuwa occupies a strategic position in the development of infantry capabilities and the preparation of personnel for the complex demands of modern military operations. His reported achievement therefore serves as an inspiring reminder of the values the Nigerian Army continues to uphold—courage, discipline, determination and an unwavering commitment to duty.
Beyond the personal accomplishment, this milestone offers an enduring lesson to military personnel and aspiring leaders alike: true leadership inspires confidence, challenges limitations and demonstrates through action the standards expected of others.
Major General Muhammad Nura Inuwa: a testament to courage beyond rank, excellence beyond expectation, and leadership through personal example.
Service. Courage. Excellence. Leadership.

AMBASSADOR DAMBAZAU CHARTS A NEW COURSE FOR NIGERIA–CHINA RELATIONS AT USTB BRIDGE FORUM: FROM INFRASTRUCTURE TO KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION 🇳🇬🇨🇳
“The next chapter of China–Africa cooperation should not be defined by who gives and who receives, but by what we build, teach and invent together.”
His Excellency Lt Gen Ambassador Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, CFR, PhD, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to China, participated in the four-day Belt and Road: Innovation, Dialogue, Growth and Exchange Forum, organised by the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) under the BRIDGE FORUM platform.
The international gathering brought together approximately 700 experts from 40 countries and regions to exchange ideas on innovation, scientific advancement, technological development and global cooperation.
In his remarks, Ambassador Dambazau reflected on the 55 years of Nigeria–China diplomatic relations, acknowledging the achievements in trade, infrastructure and government-to-government cooperation while calling for a new phase anchored on knowledge, innovation, education and people-to-people partnerships.
He emphasised that the next 50 years should move beyond traditional infrastructure projects such as roads and railways towards building a knowledge economy through research, technology transfer, technical training and local capacity development.
He also highlighted the need to shift:
- From quantity to quality in development cooperation.
- From government-to-government engagement to stronger people-to-people partnerships.
- From raw commodity exports to value addition and industrial productivity.
- From infrastructure-led cooperation to knowledge-driven innovation.
Capturing his vision, Ambassador Dambazau stated:
“Education provides the language, science provides the tools, and technology provides the engine.”
His message underscores the importance of investing in human capital, strengthening institutions and empowering the next generation to contribute meaningfully to the global economy.
The participation reflects Ambassador Dambazau’s commitment to advancing intellectual diplomacy and positioning Nigeria to benefit from a more balanced, innovative and mutually beneficial partnership with China.
The next 50 years must be about more than what we exchange. They must be about what we create together.
Building Bridges. Sharing Knowledge. Driving Innovation. Creating Opportunities. Bringing Value Home. 🇳🇬🇨🇳🌍

The University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) organized a four-day event themed "Belt and Road: Innovation, Dialogue Growth and Exchange Forum." It attracted 700 experts from 40 countries and regions under the BRIDGE FORUM. I had the opportunity to speak where I reflected on the 55 years of diplomatic relations between Nigeris and China. This period focused more on a partnership defined by trade and infrastructure. However, we want the next 50 years to focus on knowledge and people. I see the next phase of China-Africa cooperation to focus not on who gives and who receives, but on what we build, teach and invent together. China-Africa cooperation should move beyond railways and roads into knowledge economy. I concluded my remarks by saying "Education provides the language, science provides the tools, and technology provides the engine." Therefore, we must move from quantity to quality; from government-to-government to people-to-people; and from raw commodities to value addition.
A HISTORIC DIPLOMATIC CONNECTION: AMBASSADOR DAMBAZAU RECEIVES THE EMIR OF KANO AT THE NIGERIAN EMBASSY IN BEIJING 🇳🇬🇨🇳
In a remarkable encounter connecting Nigeria’s diplomatic history with its traditional institution, His Excellency Lt Gen Ambassador Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, CFR, PhD, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to China, received His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, who paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Embassy in Beijing while in China on private engagements.
The visit carries special historical significance, as the Emir’s late father, Alhaji Aminu Sanusi Bayero, the former Ciroman Kano, served as Nigeria’s first Ambassador to China in 1972, following the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nigeria and China in 1971.
More than five decades later, his son’s visit to the same diplomatic mission creates a remarkable connection between the pioneering generation of Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement with China and the present.
The encounter also highlights the important role of the Nigerian Embassy as a home away from home for Nigerians, a symbol of national identity and a centre for sustaining relationships that strengthen Nigeria’s international presence.
Under Ambassador Dambazau’s leadership, the Embassy continues to welcome Nigerians from different backgrounds, while advancing diplomatic engagement and promoting Nigeria’s interests in China.
Beyond its formal significance, the visit was a moment of shared heritage, institutional memory and enduring friendship between Nigeria and China.
Honouring History. Sustaining Relationships. Building the Future.

Dambazau, Business Leaders Put Payments, Export Finance, Investment At Centre of CBN Roundtable.
Nigeria’s Ambassador to China, Lt Gen Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd), has outlined practical financial priorities for deeper bilateral ties, including reliable cross-border payments, export finance and long-term investment.
Speaking at the Central Bank of Nigeria’s ‘Strengthening the Nigeria–China Financial Corridor’ roundtable in Beijing, Dambazau said financial cooperation should deliver measurable benefits for businesses and citizens in both countries.
“For businesses, financial cooperation has a practical meaning. It means paying a supplier reliably, receiving export earnings promptly, securing affordable working capital, and obtaining long-term finance for a viable investment,” he said.
“Our task is to make these transactions easier, more transparent and more accessible.”
The Ambassador’s contribution opened a discussion in which Nigerian and Chinese businesses connected the financial corridor’s wider ambitions with their experience of settlement, investment and access to financial services.
Dambazau emphasised the importance of clear information on payment channels, transaction costs and settlement times. Stronger commercial-bank relationships, supported by effective engagement between regulators, could help resolve operational difficulties and reduce uncertainty, he said.
“Payment delay can become a shipment delay, a production interruption or a lost business opportunity,” he said.
On local-currency settlement, he said the bilateral swap framework’s value to businesses depended on access, adequate liquidity, competitive pricing and a clear understanding of how the arrangements worked. Settlement in local currencies should remain a commercial choice supported by transparent terms and sound risk management.
He also called for financial cooperation that supported Nigerian production and exports.
“Export finance, letters of credit, credit insurance, and working capital facilities can help businesses turn market opportunities into completed transactions,” he said.
Dambazau advocated stronger financial flows in both directions, connecting finance with the practical requirements of supplying the Chinese market.
He also highlighted patient capital for productive investment and safeguards that protected legitimate commerce while allowing smaller businesses to participate.
The embassy, he said, stood ready to facilitate connections and bring commercial concerns to the appropriate institutions.
CIG Motors Chairman Diana Chen reinforced the importance of predictability from the perspective of a Chinese business with an established operating presence in Nigeria.
She described the company’s factories and employment of Nigerian engineers, technicians and managers as evidence of a relationship extending beyond imports into production and skills development.
“What we ask for today is not grand architecture. It is continuity, predictability, and the right confidence that when we commit capital, we will one day be able to bring our returns home in good order,” she said.
Chen said the financial system should keep pace with Chinese businesses’ evolution in Nigeria, including their need for patient capital alongside short-term trade finance.
Nigerian businessman, Festus Mbisiogu, welcomed the opportunity for operators in China to explain payment difficulties directly to the CBN leadership.
He described uncertainty over settlement routes, suppliers requesting RMB payments and transactions delayed within banking channels.
Flutterwave CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, credited improvements in Nigeria’s compliance infrastructure and international credibility with strengthening the environment in which Nigerian financial businesses engaged foreign counterparts.
He commended CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso and his team for implementing their policy direction.
