ALT Cartoon. Title: “The In-cent-ivator Salesman.” PM Christopher Luxon showing off a couple of “iron maiden” torture devices, a small one and an adult sized one, saying to a mother and child, “Very popular with the public” then off to the side, “Mr Seymour, how’s the model for the disabled coming along?” He replies, “Good”

.@WHO welcomes the adoption of the #UNGA Political Declaration on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response, and commends co-facilitators Armenia and Rwanda for their leadership in building consensus. This important milestone reflects a shared commitment to equity, global solidarity and collective action to make the world safer from future pandemics. We also welcome the ambition to successfully conclude negotiations on the Pathogen Access and Benefit Sharing Annex.

It is about time New Zealand pulled the blinkers off and recognised that Trump's administration is systematically undermining the core interests of liberal democracies whether it be in Ukraine or the ICC. Trump's allies are Putin, Xi Jinping and Kim Jong-un.
🇳🇴🇺🇸🇷🇺 Norwegian General Sverre Diesen, former Chief of Defence of Norway, has openly said what many European politicians prefer to remain silent about:
“Under the current administration, we cannot consider America our ally. Trump's United States is a hostile actor that, in the event of a conflict in Europe, is more likely to side with Russia than with us and other European countries.”
These are not the words of a Russian propagandist. This is the assessment of a former military chief of a NATO member state.
And if European generals are already openly warning that the United States could side with Russia in a war in Europe, one question remains:
How many more warnings do European leaders need before they finally start seriously preparing to defend themselves?

Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.

The United States' decision to impose new sanctions on the International Criminal Court will, if fully implemented, have serious implications for the Court’s work.
New Zealand is a strong supporter of the Court. This is grounded in our longstanding commitment to the international rules-based system and the principle that crimes of serious concern to the international community must be addressed through an independent criminal court.
We do not support unilateral sanctions against the Court. New Zealand is committed to constructive dialogue on these issues, with due respect for judicial independence and the international rule of law.
