Trump is a corrupt president and he’s not even trying to hide it. While Americans are struggling to put food on the table and pay for gas, Trump has made more than $2 billion in his second term in office. All from crypto scams, sweetheart deals with foreign nations, and tens of thousands of stock trades. The only person he works for is himself.

Maybe Central Banks, including the BOE, should maybe start to do their job.... Central Banking cannot be to watch the Oil chart and then hike or not hike... maybe there is a call to be made, a vision to be had... new ideas to explore... as I have said many times... while this is not a K recovery like during covid it is still some sort of a K with the upside being Energy costs and the downside being the drag on the economy... the K of 2026 is actually the one leading to Stagflation and all Central Banks do at the moment is, hiking our economies deeper into that Stagflation risk or actual Stagflation... c'mon Central Banking of the 21st Century should be doing better than this.... Monetary policy seems to clunky for sure.... clearly an Energy Crisis is something that Fiscal policy should address so much so that a Central Bank does not have to make matters worse...

This is a lack of integrity. principles and loyalty. Vance knew full well that Trump was an idiot the whole time. Yet he shamelessly kissed the ring and defended all of Trump's stupid decisions while praising him as a genius in sickening terms. Just a few months ago everybody who was against the Iran war - including all of us European allies who tried to warn against it - were suckers and losers. Now, it no longer serves Vance's career to be viewed as Trump's wingman, so he abandons ship.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

Nothing screams “Energy Independence” quite like making it illegal to drill for your own oil and gas while happily importing the stuff from Norway and the US - then locking the ban in so future governments need a full parliamentary majority to reverse your masterclass in self-sabotage.

Grid lock but that might be Goldilocks at the same time... maybe for the first time in history... a lame Duck President is bullish... at least he cannot do more damage? and that seems to be the market reaction of the last 24h

Not sure. Trumps legacy will be that he destroyed everything America once stood for. Destroyed relationships with it's Allies. Stepped onto the wrong side of history in the Ukraine. Hijacked and destroyed the GOP and yes, there is that idiotic war in Iran. The list would go on. History will not even believe that one President could possibly be responsible for all those failures and missteps

This is why there will not be any Peace as long as Trump is President. He cannot deal with this... Trump cannot be humble in victory... and he does not get the culture of a deal with Iran... hence sadly, near Zero chance of lasting Peace

It looks like Trump continues to actively manipulate the oil markets for the financial gain of insiders with advance knowledge of his changing position. After causing oil prices to rise based on threats of escalated military action against Iran after the midterms, Trump has now done a 180, claiming he prefers peaceful negotiations rather than military action. Once oil short positions are covered and new longs are established, expect another reversal of the official position. Trump will likely continue this manipulation until markets no longer react to anything his administration says.

Looking at the AUD and AUD Rates... I guess we finally found the breaking point.. this is NOT just a dovish hike.. this is a hike where people finally realise that Central Banks hike themselves more and more into Stagflation. Monetary policy is too clumsy when it comes to an Energy shock... Fiscal policy would need to shoulder the burden to stop a pass through..at this rate.. not just Australia will get hurt but many others too... during the ECB presser I concluded one thing... and looking at EURAUD that has worked terrific... the new mantra....BUY DOVISH, SELL HAWKISH
