What is the๐งsource of transpiration๐ฒ at Maimai? Going after this simple question at the hillslope scale in one of the most studied catchments ๐ Spent the best time in the field with Chris Gabrielli, Jeff McDonnell, Uwe Morgenstern, Brian McGlynn and others... See you soon NZ!

Yes, annual growth rings in tropical trees๐ณ. But, wait! isn't it due to dry seasons?
No, it is because of high soil moisture and light limitation by cloudiness in the rainest tropical forests in the world (>12,000 mm/yr)!
Great piece by @jagiral1 et al.
Happy to share our work on tree rings in the ever-wet tropical forests (the last unexplored frontier of tropical dendrochronology).

Do you know when trees start to #transpire in the spring and when they stop in the fall? ๐คWe offer a new approach to answer it! The method provides 4 phenological transition phases๐ + shows that๐ฒ๐ฒstart to transpire during snowmelt + transpiration onset aligns with C02 uptake

You use stable #isotopes to study water and nutrient dynamics in the critical zone? Tell us more about it at #EGU23 in Vienna and online! Submit an abstract (oral/poster) to our session meetingorganizer.copernicus.โฆ
@GZuecco @nat_iso @JesseRadolinski @MagaliNehemy @EGU_HS @ca19120
Now that #AGU22 is over time to focus on #EGU23. Consider submitting an abstract to our session on stable isotopes dynamics. Details: meetingorganizer.copernicus.โฆโฆ
