*sigh* because the British press hasn’t spelt this out I will. (Is it spelled or spelt?) Anyway … The EU believes its law takes precedence over Poland’s sovereign law (even its Constitution, wherever EU law applies) Poland’s Constitution says it is the SUPREME law of the country (I agree) Now Donald Tusk’s is battling his own people over control of Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal, with police on the streets and the court’s leadership removed (because they disagreed with the EU’s position). the European Commission is, of course, backing Tusk on the appointment of judges. ( as long as they agree with the EU position) Brussels insists the Tribunal must respect rulings of the EU Court of Justice (because they believe their rule is superior to sovereignty) AND They dare to call this “defending the rule of law” And THIS ladies and gentlemen is why I voted to leave. You’re welcome 🔥

The people saying “AI art has no soul” have never once asked whether the stock photo on their company website had a soul. Or the font they used. Or the jingle in the ad. Or the 400 identical logos made by a freelancer on a deadline. Nobody cared about soul until it was their invoice on the line.

Voters thought fighting data centers would stop AI from taking their jobs. Meanwhile China has their own AI hardware supply chain, several of the world's top AI labs, and is building massive amounts of nuclear and renewable power. There is no stopping this train.

The only people who are surprised by what's happening in Texas are people who don't live in Texas. We don't see Americans. Or hear English. Texans are nowhere to be found. Whole areas are ethnic enclaves. Democrats are everywhere. Shit loads of huge companies have come here and moved their entire third world/leftist workforces with them. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

The differing perceptions of AI are wild. The country just voted against data centers on 40+ provisions nationwide and hates AI. (Plenty of legitimate gripes.) But most of those people are just unaware that AI is finding a new cancer cure or treatment weekly, going through decades of peer reviewed data and uncovering mountains of errors, that its correcting, throughout every academic field. Replacing billions of man hours of drudgery. Closest thing to a “miracle” I’ve ever witnessed. When I talk to people outside of tech/VC, they’re just unaware of all of it.

JPMorgan says any dip in AI stocks after a Democratic sweep in the midterms would be a buying opportunity. The bank expects AI spending to stay strong through 2028 no matter who wins. It sees divided government as the best outcome for stocks: the S&P 500 has averaged a 21% gain over two-year terms of gridlock since 1950, versus 18% under one-party control.

People should stop worrying about AI slop and start worrying about human slop. Human slop is everywhere. It’s been around forever, and it’s far more destructive than anything AI is producing. And I’m convinced that most people still complaining about AI making mistakes haven’t seriously used it in the past six months. And if they have, they’ve been talking to a chatbot, not working with autonomous agents. Because I cannot imagine someone experiencing what modern AI agents are capable of and still being anti-AI. You can come up with the most ridiculous idea imaginable, give it to an agent, and watch it actually attempt to make it happen. Things that would’ve required entire teams, years of experience, and enormous budgets are becoming accessible to anyone. The possibilities are practically endless. And somehow people are still arguing about AI slop.

I have a theory. The reason the vast voting public is not afraid of: - socialism - anti-Semitism - identitarianism - political use of "emergency" - elected fraudsters It's that people don't read. They don't know: We've done all this before. It's the road to a broken society.

it’s depressing how much anti-ai sentiment is spreading. we’re talking about a technology that could fundamentally transform medicine, science, education, and almost every aspect of human life. and somehow the conversation keeps getting dragged back to the most ridiculous shit imaginable. what a waste of an extraordinary moment in history.

we’re on the verge of one of the biggest technological breakthroughs in human history, and somehow the political conversation is about how to slow it down. it’s genuinely infuriating. america should be building more compute, more energy, and more infrastructure. not finding a thousand new reasons to do absolutely nothing.

It is alarming to see how much anti-AI sentiment is gaining traction, and deeply regrettable, too. With this technology, we have the potential to change everything for the better, forever. Yet, in the comments sections here, I find myself debating the most trivial matters, as if the majority still fails to grasp the immense power and possibilities that AI brings.
This is incredibly bad news. Abdul El-Sayed wants to pause AI, while at the same time, almost every AI data center is being blocked by local communities. Folks fail to realize just how transformative AI is for humanity. It’s a shame.
