A Vetrans life is an extraordinary life, or it should be, by honoring the service to protect our freedoms and citizens. The truth is, they are not always treated as heros, just set aside to wait for a slow, and drudge filled system that can't help fast enough before their emotional well being continues to degrade along with their dignity. #VETERANSareHEROS #QOLTLovesVets

I'll never forget the first life we saved in 2019, Christmas Day. Grant in Denver. He was 76 I think, and he was a retired mortgage broker. It was three below zero that week. Since the beginning of my nonprofit, he was my very first client. He would donate $75 a month for me to answer an email seven days a week, and he would simply say "AOK in Denver" or "AOK in Vail." I guess he had two Colorado homes. In the football season, he would put a football. In the snowy season, he would send me pictures of his front porch looking down on Denver in a very suburb area, and it was just beautiful, and I've never been in a snowfall. Christmas Day he didn't email me, but he did Christmas Eve. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, thinking he might be with a nephew that was about a couple hundred miles away, or he was with his neighbors. On Thursday morning, because 2019 Christmas was on a Wednesday, I started calling his neighbors in Denver, his care circle. Then I called his care circle in Vail in case he went there without telling me. While I was on the phone with the Denver police by 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, his neighbor finally called across the street. I gave him the lockbox code to the back door, and he let himself in. He announced himself. He couldn't find Grant in any room in the house, but he saw the basement door ajar. He went down the basement stairs, and Grant was at the bottom of the stairs, passed out, his head was bleeding, and a femur bone was sticking out of his skin, and there was a lot of blood, but he was alive. He called the EMTs, and he went to the hospital. Then the hospital called me and asked what I knew about him. At that time, early on, I didn't ask like medication information, but now we're completely different because we're a secure database, HIPAA compliant. I just said, "I really can't give you any information because we're not at that stage yet." She goes, "Well, I just want to tell you your service saved his life, and what you're doing by just a reassurance communication or a medication reminder means the world to these elderly people." I said, "Well, thank you." She goes, "I'm going to share your information with other hospitals in the area." I hung up with her, and three weeks later, he called me from rehab, and he said, "Dale, thank you. Your service saved my life. It really works." It changed me forever, and I've never stopped ever since.
