Like many others, I was rooting for @AbdulElSayed but this has put me off. Ironically, his tone, content and demeanour here all seem borrowed from the Trump playbook. Hopefully he’ll be a good senator for #Michigan, but this gives you uncomfortable insight… #Democrats #Midterms

Appalling killing by SaF forces in Sudan
SAF air strikes kill 102 unarmed civilians in Nyala, with a 113 more wounded during the attack.
Bombs have reportedly hit residential areas across the city, including the Tongonaj Market.
The attack comes as part of a broad aerial campaign in Sudan with the SAF continuing to target civilian areas despite calls for de-escalation and peace.

One year ago, the RSF committed horrific atrocities in El Fasher. Civilians were killed, beaten, raped and tortured during the RSF’s assault on the city. One year later, civilians across Sudan continue to suffer. Drone strikes kill and injure scores of civilians across the country almost daily. Civilians are forced to leave their homes and their livelihoods. And severe food insecurity is spreading. The United States mourns the loss of life due to the conflict in Sudan and is working every day to advance efforts towards lasting peace. Foreign military support to the belligerents must cease, aid workers must have unhindered humanitarian access, and civilians must be protected and able to return to their homes. Perpetrators of atrocities must be held to account. The Sudanese people have suffered enough; they deserve to live their lives without constant fear of violence.

I think that both Josh and Johannes did much better tonight. You could tell they were both really trying to create a better atmosphere. I still think @bbcstrictly was crazy to give two novice presenters such a massive gig though. The crowd seemed a bit flat too #strictly #scd
Regardless of if what happened on the #flydubai flight was a fight between pilots or a terrorist plot, it must have been terrifying for the passengers on board. And if you have any humanity then you should realise that without the need to qualify it with ‘what about’ statements

EXCL: A new help-to-buy scheme aimed at giving first-time buyers who cannot rely on the “bank of mum and dad” is to be introduced in a big policy announcement by Andy Burnham.
“Your first home” is intended to help buyers in England who have a regular income but have been unable to save for a large deposit or don’t have financial support from their family.
Under the scheme, first-time buyers will get a 20% equity loan to help them buy a new-build home, with an initial interest free period and a requirement of a minimum deposit of just 2.5%.
Household income caps and a deposit cap will be introduced to exclude those on the biggest salaries and with big savings pots, with the scheme targeted at those who may struggle to buy a home on their own. Price caps will ensure people can only buy modest houses.
