France has deployed military personnel to protect churches. There is no need to defend mosques because, for some unknown reason, the violent rioters never attack them. Weird.
In Paris right now the army is deployed with weapons in hand to defend churches. And we all know why. No Christian would ever attack a church.

The gaming industry has already lost 10,977 jobs in 2026, according to the ASGC Games Industry Layoffs Tracker. That’s more than the entire 2025 total, and the year isn’t even over. The tracker estimates that losses could reach 13,077 by December. Around 35 studios have also shut down, with 161 studios affected by layoffs. >BioWare: EA closed the studio and canceled the next Mass Effect, which was still in early development. >Sucker Punch: Around 24–26 employees were laid off. >Microsoft is planning around 3,200 job cuts >Arkane Lyon: Around 217 jobs are at risk. >Supermassive Games: More than 70 employees were laid off. >DON’T NOD: Up to 85 jobs could be affected by its restructuring. For comparison, the industry lost 15,631 jobs in 2024 and 9,197 in 2025. 2026 has already surpassed last year’s numbers

This may come as a shock to those who believe everything revolves around their personal practices, but whether some people celebrate Christmas or not in real life is irrelevant. The characters in the game are celebrating Christmas, thus removing it despite all the clear imagery and the characters' Japanese voice actors saying "Merry Christmas" is objectively incorrect. Anyone being honest should be able to admit that. Localization discourse like this reveals that some people aren't operating from any real principle regarding the quality of Japanese media, rather they are just using it to further their own interests through said media and dunk on people they've deemed the enemy. Adhering as closely as possible to the original Japanese script via faithful translation is the correct answer, anything else is just vandalism.

The obsession with "empathy" has created a situation in which the exact opposite of empathy is mistaken for it. People who are unable to model the minds of others assume that other people only do bad things because of circumstances outside of their control. "I would never do that unless I had to, so neither would other people." That's not empathy. That's projecting your own thoughts and motivations onto others, which is the opposite of empathy. This inability to model the minds of others hinders their ability to accept a fictional character who is motivated by things that would not motivate themselves. Such a character comes across as unbelievable to them.

When a neo-Nazi managed to get himself on the Republican ticket in Illinois’s 3rd Congressional District despite GOP legal efforts to stop him, the entire party; local and national, told people to write in a candidite or vote for the Democrat. Democrats, on the other hand, are perfectly fine with a virulent antisemite with personal connections to Islamic extemists and are attacking anyone who dares break ranks with him. You're a shitbag, Piers. Go to hell.
Wow… what an absolute charlatan. Three days ago, Stevens said she was voting for El-Sayed. I hate politicians who switch sides at the last minute before elections. And everyone else always ends up hating them too. Just the ultimate political treachery.

Bombs? Our mission doesn't even have bombs at its disposal. Aerial bombardments? Helicopter gunship attacks? Our attack helicopters didn't arrive in Haiti until October 29. Their arrival was widely covered by the media, with plenty of videos and social media posts documenting it. Yet this “report” was published a day before our helicopters even arrived. And as of today, they haven't flown a single mission. These NGOs lie with impunity, while wielding enormous influence over international organizations. They are nothing more than lobbying firms for criminals and cartels, masquerading as humanitarian organizations.
🇭🇹 A Haitian advocacy group is accusing Salvadoran forces of bombing civilians near Port-au-Prince, telling UN Secretary-General António Guterres in an open letter that "children are being killed not by gangs, but by foreign bombs." 🔹Despite its name, the United Nations Association-Haiti is not part of the UN but a diaspora advocacy group. Founder Harvey Dupiton, a Croix-des-Bouquets native, wrote that since Oct. 22, Salvadoran troops have hit civilian neighborhoods there and in nearby Canaan with airstrikes, helicopter gunships and heavy weapons. "Our families tell us they are hiding under beds," he added. 🔹President Nayib Bukele significantly expanded the deployment to over 2000 troops after gangs kidnapped four Salvadoran technicians serving with the UN-authorized Gang Suppression Force on Oct. 18. 🔹The group demanded an immediate halt to Salvadoran "offensive bombing operations," a UN investigation into civilian deaths and a Security Council statement that El Salvador "has no right to wage unilateral war in Haiti." Picture this: a cultist finally gets his hands on a good version of the Necronomicon. Olaus Wormius's Latin version, for instance. He uses Claude to translate it to English, Mandarin, and Hindi. He now begins painstakingly digitalizing every single page, so he can have THE WHOLE NECRONOMICON online, so everyone can read it. He hands over all rights, so it's easy to download, repost, and copy. It will be impossible to suppress. Now, probably 99 out of 100 readers just find it creepy. Maybe 1 in 100 believe it and become a lunatic or a cultist. And one in 10,000 actually try its recipes. In Lovecraft's story, "The Dunwich Horror" one single backwoods nutjob puts together a ritual which nearly destroys the entire world. Even defeating his plan costs many lives. In our modern world we couldn't stop this. Some guy in Tibet or Kazakhstan or Kenya reads the Necronomicon and thinks, "I should try that. This world sucks." And he does. How could we suppress all the hundreds of little "Wilbur Whateleys" popping up all over the planet? Even if most are failures, it only takes one success. So if the Necronomicon was real and was as portrayed by Lovecraft, our modern media will swiftly lead to our demise and hideous destruction.

The fucking clown that I'm replying to with this post reposted a reply and blocked me. Much stunning, very brave.
Chris is correct. I've loved Godzilla and other Kaiju films since I was a child, and even then I thought the costumes and effects were goofy as hell. Because they are. But that doesn't ultimately matter, because they're still cool and carried by other things like the music.

That's the suspension of disbelief. The artistry of shot composition alone really sells it.
