The Malie Library Reference Section is an open source Pokemon card cataloging project. Well, eventually, anyway. Programming is hard, let's buy Pokémon cards!

Hi! The Malie Library Reference Section is an ongoing project to catalogue Pokémon cards. Our work is primarily visible through pkmncards.com, where our work and research powers the site. I am always happy to share resources with other players and site owners.

I should add rss to malie.io and then also remember to update my own website 🙃

I also want to take the time to reiterate that malie.io/static has card images and metadata for English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese in formats easy to scrape for developers for their own sites and projects. Please use them!

We expect future sets will be uploaded on time on release day, unforeseen issues notwithstanding. Thank you for your patronage at Malie Library! <3
Well, since I'm here: Stellar Crown was uploaded to malie.io and pkmncards.com Sunday night - you may have noticed many sites were late with the update or had partial set information. Sorry about that!

The reason I asked: Printed theme deck checklists from this era don't list secret cards. The go-pokemon.com "Card Dex" PDFs (the spiritual successor to Wizards oracle texts) ... call them ... "Shiny Rare"!
I have a totally normal people question: During the B&W PTCG era, did "SR" stand for "Rare Secret"/"Secret Rare", or did it stand for "Shiny Rare"? Please vote on your phones now

Well, what does the current pokemon website say about these cards? pokemon.com/us/pokemon-tcg/p… ... "Rare Holo". Oh, that doesn't seem right.

So until BW8/PLS, I can only find evidence for these cards being "Shiny Rare" on official, primary sources. Though, PTCGO also treats these cards as "Rare Secret", if you go to search filters and look that way. Wait, does PTCGO count as an official, primary source? 😅
How many of you have ever seen the original Pokémon TCG rulebook ... in Hebrew? web.archive.org/web/20040928… @internetarchive is such a gift to researchers - it is, hands down, the best website on the internet.

Bless whoever has chosen the chaos option.
We've collected *almost* all of the WC commemorative decks for high quality archival scanning. We have just these left to acquire - Please get in touch if you are willing to sell us one! Note: We won't accept loans of closed product, because we're gonna open them!

"fair market price" is of course is a moving target, we're open to discussion. We know a few of these aren't cheap. We can also discuss right of first refusal if/when we re-sell the (opened) decks later. Any proceeds we make will go back to sourcing more cards to scan.

(We have no public ledger yet; but we intend to publicly document all cash flow for the project before opening a patreon, so everyone can know where the money goes and what *exactly* your contributions fund.)
