Whether you buying a house or land, make sure the option you choose makes sense for you. Don't become house poor. Some people need to stay with their parents and save, some of you need to rent and some of you need to go sort out your family land and get a build-on-own-land loan.
Now that the BOJ has increased the policy rate - and probably will continue to for the next 12-18 months, I'll reiterate, DO NOT BUY A CAR.
Also keep your debts low and live below or within your means.
My prediction is it will be bumpy, not just in Jamaica, but globally.

To know that one person is responsible for these prices is very upsetting to think about
Motorists will pay more for gas on Thursday. The state-owned oil refinery, Petrojam, says E-10 87 is to move up by $3.06 to sell for $212.68 per litre and a litre of E-10 90 will go up by $3.06 to sell for $220.38.

Did my routine car servicing.
We did an oil change, oil filter, air filter, the rack & pinion was serviced, axel seal for transmission were swapped out, CV joint was greased, tyre rotation was done and undercarriage washed.
It cost me just under $45k (service cost included). 😮💨

The day we get Trains that run between KSA, Portmore and Spanish Town will be the day we see productivity skyrocket in Jamaica.
There is no reasonable way you can expect top level productivity with people having to survive this

Maybe with the older generation of women. But from what I've seen, a lot of broken people these days(men and women). You put in 100%, lucky to get back 20.
This is the" Broke men don't deserve no 🐱" generation, the what's "mine is mine and what's his is mine" generation and the "men are trash, embrassment and useless" generation of single women.
This is the "mukkas, back road and tricking" generation of single men. The chronically online, car addicted, commonly overweight yet gym focused, and hypersocially fraternal aka entourage driven, generation of men.
Combined, it's a sign of the worst heavy drinking, smoking, partying, sexually deviant, unproductive, ADHD addled, selfish and narcissistic social media obsessed generation. So much so, that we can't agree that both men and women are to be blamed for the ruinous state of dating today.
