Amazing footage of a #mink investigating #watervole borrows (marked by flags), clearly demonstrating how easily a mink can access water voles and predate an entire colony with ease.

Is anyone doing #minkcontrol around #Wareham or the Purbecks? Or do you know of anyone who might be? If so, please could you ping me a DM? Thanks!
It's fantastic seeing these rafts going out!
🌟 Our amazing volunteers were busy this week deploying monitoring rafts along the River Thame! 🦦 Excitement is building as we wait for animals will leave their prints in the clay pads within the raft tunnels. 🐾 #WildlifeMonitoring #RiverThame #VolunteerHeroes
We now have 300 #mink rafts registered on the MinkMapp app, with 66 mink having been dispatched!

Another way to look at it!

Thanks @JCaseNature
We've had lots of people sign up to minkmapp.uk recently, but please keep adding your rafts! Working together is the only way we can efficiently control (eradicate...?) #mink using a strategic approach and it really is working!
Mink control most certainly needs a joined up approach...
...and the @MappMink are promoting just that!

We're now at that time of year when American mink are very active and juveniles are dispersing. Many locations in our trap network have had increased captures over the past few weeks and we're expecting more. This is a really important time to be monitoring and trapping.
New job alert... ⬇️⬇️

We're always looking for folk to help with mink control - pretty much anywhere north of Perth.
We also need people in specific areas when mink are known to us. This time it's Methven nr Perth where we've had a number of mink sightings. Can you help?

Beautiful footage, clearly demonstrating the size of the invasive American #mink alongside a grey squirrel and red fox

Unfortunately this is a mink, rather than an otter.
Demonstrates the need for constant vigilance even where #mink control is ongoing - there are #watervoles on some parts of the Thames in #Oxford , but for how much longer?

This female #mink will be working hard to feed her two kits, so woe betide any #watervoles in the vicinity.
If you want #watervoles in a local landscape like this ⏬ #mink control is imperative!
Whether it's to protect extant voles, or for a #reintroduction, get your mink rafts in order!
Together we can eradicate mink, thereby protecting native WV long-term.

🐀 Our second water vole release went swimmingly!
Thanks to @KernowConserva1 for releasing 84 water voles at Trelusback farm with us last week!

This ⬇️⬇️ is why we need bigger, more joined up #mink control.
It really does work, and native fauna including water voles can come back from the brink!
