Announced roughly a year ago, MAPTISM is finally out MAPTISM dot org serves as a repository for all Maptism maps, animations, threads, graphics and other materials, easily and quickly accessible in full resolution and also in "tiled view". Currently host to a selection of curated maps, most with their respective articles and sources, over the coming days it will be updated to contain all Maptism maps and animations, as well as ported and reformatted twitter threads for easier viewing and reading. ~160 maps are on the backlog and will be ported over in the coming days. The site also includes a Commission form for easier Commission processing and more information for what type of Maps and Services we are able to provide: its not just prehistory! Right now, the main highlights are the Corded Ware and 2nd century Germanic threads ported over as well as the Mycenaean Maps. We're also stripping the "non-commercial" aspect of the licensing, and simply using CC BY 4.0 on the maps. Free for reuse, provided there is attribution.

Y-DNA and MtDNA of Early Medieval Saxony-Anhalt Slavs. Although migration period sampling is very scarce these represent the main patrilineages of Prague-Korchak upon arrival. Chart style inspired by @Maptysk
The distribution of Prague-Korchak, otherwise ethnically associated with the Sclaveni mentioned in Byzantine sources. Just like all other Early Slav groups it descends from the Kiev Culture and is ancestral to West and East Slavs.

Plus a more experimentary visualization, clade through time, taken from the samples average Radiocarbon date. Note that this is subject to sample misdatings in the dataset and is before any date manual cleanup.

THE MARKOMANNIC EMPIRE While not fully stratified, An Argument can be made that the First Germanic Empire is Marobodus' Empire, 9bc-18ad. This was a Tribal Confederation, although Marobodus explicitly Proclaimed himself as the King of the other Tribes under him, much to the contempt of the Semnones and Langobardi. The Markomanni were by far the most Powerful and Stratified Tribe in Germania, and through being close friends with Rome, formed a large federation of mostly Economic Basis, which greatly Enriched the Markomanni and their Allies. Depicted on the map are Specific types of Almgren Fibula associated with the Markomanni and their Trade Network, as well as the Tribes described as being part of Marobodus' Empire.
Oldest extant Germanic nations, ordered by the date they unified or became an independent state: 1. Norway (formed in 872) - Unified under Harald Fairhair after the Battle of Hafrsfjord. (modern independent state only dates to 1905 though) 2. England (formed on July 12, 927) - Unified under King Æthelstan creating the Kingdom of England which expanded through the union with Scotland in 1707. 3. Denmark (formed around 965) - Unified under King Harald Bluetooth. 4. Sweden - Emerged as a unified kingdom in the 11th century 5. Switzerland (formed on October 24, 1648) - Gained de facto independence from the Holy Roman Empire via the Peace of Westphalia, formalising the Swiss Confederation. 6. Liechtenstein (formed on August 6, 1806) - Established as the Principality of Liechtenstein after the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire. 7. Netherlands (formed on November 20, 1813) - The Kingdom of the Netherlands was established post-Napoleonic Wars, building on earlier Dutch republican traditions (unified in 1588 which would put them at 5th). 8. Luxembourg (formed on March 15, 1815) - The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was created by the Congress of Vienna, achieving full independence in the 19th century. Belgium (formed on October 4, 1830) - Declared independence from the United Kingdom of the Netherlands after a revolution, forming the Kingdom of Belgium. 9. Germany (formed on July 1, 1867) - Established as the North German Confederation, which evolved into the German Empire in 1871 and the modern Federal Republic after 1990 reunification.

Distribution of the Kyiv culture during the Late Roman Period Kyiv's origin is mainly Zarubintsy with influences from the synchronous Chernyakhov and served as the basis for Penk'ovka, Kolochin and Prague-Korchak. It also had a parallel Volga variant.

Distribution of Slavic sites in Romania and Moldova during the Migration Period. These groups are the result of Prague-Korchak and Penk'ovka diffusing into the region and fusing into a homogeneous horizon, although ethnically these are identified mainly as Antes.

Getting a bit more experimental with the Charts, here is the Y-DNA breakdown of the Nordic Bronze Age and its relation to Corded Ware, Bell Beaker and the Nordic Dagger period. The majority of NBA R1a comes from Norway, and the NBA itself is not well sampled.
