Good morning, Ed. I couldn’t agree with you more. Here in San Diego I turn on the television and watch military families and wounded veterans standing in line for free food. The people who belong in those lines are the politicians who have been bleeding this country dry for more than 250 years. Our young men and women signed their names at 19… some at 17. Too many never came home. The ones who did return came back broken — disabled, in constant pain, and too often forgotten. I have veterans so deep in pain they cannot sit on hold for the VA. They call me instead, and I make the calls for them. Others have asked for counseling help. When I send them to the Crisis Line, they come back and say, “I’d rather talk to you. Those people are just trying to get to the next call.” There is no shortage of money in America. We are shipping it by the boatload to every corner of the earth — including to the Taliban, our sworn enemy — while our own veterans stand in food lines and wait on hold. This must end. I know President @realDonaldTrump loves our veterans. I am far less certain about the new @SecVetAffairs ;have heard nothing from him. Meanwhile our veterans are hurting. I still have my health. He needs help and the @SecVetAffairs /VA are letting him down. I will continue with my crusade until the United States treats our heroes with respect. EM is trying to interrupt my mission: To unite our Veterans and continue building our Veteran community.
