To be clear about what this depicts: An immigration officer threw a woman onto the ground. Alex Pretti, a registered nurse on scene as a legal observer, is filming and goes to help the woman up. He is then pepper sprayed and thrown to the ground for no discernible reason. Many officer surround and assault him; one removes his firearm, which police say appears to have been legally registered. They then execute him with a hail of bullets.
They are, objectively speaking, both cowards and criminals, while Pretti is what we teach people an American ought to be.

my goal w the ucla student encampments was to show you how different the reality on the ground was from the way the media was framing it. the la protests are the same. it feels chaotic from afar. but the protesters are your neighbors. the threat is ice. the threat is the police.

I would like to add as a reminder to my fellow streamers & content creators: when you use homophobic and transphobic language, you are promoting violence against a community that is fighting for their survival. You share space with lgbtq+ creators and viewers, and you owe them dignity. You have influence and you must wield that influence in a way that does not bring harm to others.
horrifying details from the statement of Jonathan Joss’ husband regarding his murder. Just 2 days ago, Jonathan had been at ATX TV Festival to promote the King of the Hill reboot with fellow cast members, and now he is dead because homophobia is still alive and well in this “civilized” society.
On the first day of Pride Month, Jonathan was murdered because he was a gay man in America. We must honor his memory by continuing to fight for lgbtq+ rights. Pride is not just a celebration, but a revolution. It began that way, and it remains so until true equality is achieved.

Hasan Piker: "You have people getting black-bagged in the street. Disappeared for the crime of speaking the truth. And that is precisely why you demonstrating here matters.
We must never allow these fascists to take away our voice." @hasanthehun

I remember my conversation with @hasanthehun when he hosted me in his house for an interview.
I saw how much he was moved and wanted to learn more from people who lived the genocide in Gaza.
It’s of course impossible for Hasan and others to enter Gaza because of restrictions from the Israeli occupation..
The only way for the world to see and hear the truth is through the eyes of Palestinians who document the constant Israeli crimes or lived under the occupation.
We’re all being censored or de-platformed some way. Thank you Hasan for refusing to be silenced by ignorant people.
I hope one day we can welcome you to Gaza and in a #FreePalestine.
