Excited to share our preprint reporting a completely new approach to study kinase signaling (ProKAS): "Proteomic Sensors for Quantitative, Multiplexed and Spatial Monitoring of Kinase Signaling" We applied it to DDR kinases. Please share. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

ProKAS is based on a tandem array of peptide sensors with amino acid barcodes that allow multiplexed analysis for spatial, kinetic, and screening applications using mass spectrometry.

Thrilled to share our latest story @NatureCellBio on a new way to control protein localization without exogenous triggers (e.g., light/rapamycin)—take advantage of endogenous triggers in dividing cells! Free link: rdcu.be/dSlrS Regular link: nature.com/articles/s41556-0… 1/4

Part 2 of my postdoc work is out! We show that the ploidy-to-cell size ratio is a highly conserved, “intrinsic” determinant of cell physiology. Check out the paper for more insight into how and why. Link - nature.com/articles/s41594-0… Free PDF – rdcu.be/dONo3 Also, a fun🧵!

New preprint. More on non-canonical motifs for DDR kinases. Here we find that Tel1 (yeast ATM) targets D/E-S/T. ... more prevalent than S/T-Q ... NOT shared with Mec1. May explain how Tel1 plays specialized roles in DNA repair and telomere maintenance. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

New paper on non-canonical DNA-PKcs signaling. We speculate that the substrate recognition pocket of DNA-PKcs can adopt multiple configurations, which would explain how it can phosphorylate S/T-Q as well as S/T-ψ-D/E motifs. jbc.org/article/S0021-9258%2…

This work was driven by Bokun (@BokunXie) a fantastic graduate student. He is starting to look for a postdoctoral position to start in the Fall. The lab that is able to recruit him will be very lucky!
