FWIW, Alberta as a province can claim to have rain flowing into the Pacific (technically from the other side of the continental divide, which is BC, but some might splash over to there), Arctic (via the Athabasca River), Hudson's Bay (North Sask and Bow Rivers) and Gulf of Mexico (Milk River in the very south, which connects to the Missouri).

Rain falling on a farm hill in Potter County, Pennsylvania can end up in the Gulf of Mexico, Chesapeake Bay or the Gulf of St Lawrence, depending on exactly where it lands.
It's the Triple Divide, and you could (would) easily drive straight past this hydrological oddity.

India did pro-capitalist reforms and immediately became richer than sub-Saharan Africa, which they were poorer than until the early 2000s.
It's insane how good capitalism is.
India saw about 496 million people lifted out of poverty between 2011 and 2023 in one of the world’s fastest declines in this metric, the World Bank said, although the gains remain uneven. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Diwali is a Dharmic religious festival, not a regional "South Asian" affair. We explained why back in 2022!
cohna.org/the-cultural-appro…
If someone's idea of "inclusion" rests on cultural appropriation of #Diwali and the denial of deeply held indigenous traditions, then it's just a fancy name for old fashioned theft of Hindu traditions and religious bigotry!
#Diwali2026 @pushpita
In this day and age, to argue that Diwali is a 'South Asian' festival is an extreme disservice to the millions of Hindus who preserved and kept traditions alive because they were Hindu Traditions.
They did this outside "South Asia" because they were Hindu and that identity meant something.
You won't melt by calling Diwali a Hindu festival.

India still has a long way to go, but it is arguably the single most powerful real-world example of the power of free-market capitalism anywhere on earth.

Qatalyst Partners, the tech M&A boutique Frank Quattrone started in March 2008, has advised on more than 250 deals since launch and is on an absolute tear in 2026
The firm’s strategy is narrow. Only tech, only M&A, and mostly the company being sold
While the bulge brackets work both sides and bring financing, Qatalyst usually runs the auction as the only bank on the sell side
PitchBook counts 25 buy-side mandates out of 274 deals
Here are 5 of their recent mega deals
1. Silicon Labs
Silicon Labs is an Austin-based fabless chip designer focused on low-power wireless connectivity for IoT
In February 2026, Texas Instruments agreed to buy it for $231 per share in cash, about $7.5 billion of enterprise value, a 69% premium to the prior close
Qatalyst advised Silicon Labs, against Goldman Sachs for TI.
It was TI's largest deal since National Semiconductor in 2011, which Qatalyst also sold to TI
2. Roku
In June 2026, Fox agreed to buy Roku for $160 per share, made up of $96 in cash and 0.9693 Fox Class A shares, about $22 billion of enterprise value
The price was a 34% premium to the unaffected June 11 close. Roku holders end up with about 27% of the combined company
Roku's Strategic Initiatives Committee hired Qatalyst to run a market check, and it was Roku's only bank.
Fox had Allen & Company as lead plus Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, with a $12 billion bridge from Morgan Stanley
Per the proxy, Fox agreed to pay Allen & Company $55 million. Fox shares traded down 16.6% on announcement day
3. Synaptics
Ten days later, onsemi agreed to buy Synaptics in an all-stock deal worth about $7 billion, its largest acquisition ever
Synaptics holders get 1.35 onsemi shares each, a roughly 19% premium to the 10-day VWAP, and will own about 12% of the combined company
Qatalyst again stood alone on the sell side, against Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan for onsemi. Per Reuters, onsemi shares fell almost 10% after hours
Close is expected in mid-2027, with about $200 million of annual synergies
4. Braze
On October 20, Salesforce agreed to buy Braze for $47.50 per share in cash, about $5.66 billion of enterprise value
That was a 58% premium to the prior close of $30.04, and Braze stock rose 51.7% that day
It is one of Salesforce's 5 largest acquisitions and more than double the $2.5 billion it paid for ExactTarget
Qatalyst was exclusive advisor to Braze, against J.P. Morgan as exclusive advisor to Salesforce.
Close is expected in Salesforce's FY28, which starts February 2027
5. Marvell / Lumentum
Lumentum makes the lasers and optical components that move data inside AI data centers, and Marvell is already a customer
On November 2, Marvell agreed to buy it at a fixed 4.500 Marvell shares per Lumentum share, about $1,132 per share and a 23.9% premium to the October 28 unaffected close
That is $115 billion of enterprise value and about $102.5 billion of equity value, which Bloomberg says makes it the largest M&A deal of 2026. Marvell holders keep about 67% of the combined company
Qatalyst led for Marvell with J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs alongside. Citi and Evercore advised Lumentum
Qatalyst knows the buyer from the other side of the table.
It sold Cavium to Marvell for about $6 billion in 2017 and Inphi in 2020, Marvell's largest deal before today at $10 billion, then advised Marvell on the $2.5 billion sale of its automotive ethernet unit to Infineon in 2025

Sorry, but why does it seem that all Asian American diaspora literature is like this? Asians have such a vast and vibrant history and culture, but all the books are just slop about "not fitting in with the popular white kids" and being "embarrassed over my parents' accents."

i have never once in my life encountered a piece of writing about the asian american experience that seemed any good to me, reflected anything real or important about my own experience, etc. it's extremely telling that ~all diasporaslop appears to be written by women, seems like the overall cultural agenda is to try to make you feel sorry for them which is imo pointless and annoying
obviously i can't speak for everyone else but the asian american experience just isn't that bad. people don't know what to expect from you so you just have to surprise them a little bit and that's really all it takes. fitting in with the popular white kids is easy, i learned social skills from watching a lot of TV, comedy especially. part of the reason asian american men aren't writing tedious books about how you should feel sorry for them is they're too busy making gobs of money with their giant brains. asian americans are if anything overpowered and we should start owning that about ourselves. you just have to forgive your parents which is not specific to being asian at all

Over the past months, a single Wikipedia editor has been quietly shaping @AbdulElSayed's entry.
The editing has been intensive and highly directed. For example:
+ Hasan Piker controversy got cut down.
+ Syed's antisemitism problem – deleted.
+ Harris and Obama endorsements went in.
+ A line saying AIPAC’s brand is “toxic” included.
Is it an op?
Well, two weeks ago the same editor had this to say in an edit summary on the El-Sayed page:
“another half month of this shit.”

You can easily tell everyone here takes the caste system extremely seriously.
They are not here to assimilate. They're here to steal resources and bring their racist/colorist views with them, no matter how much they try to gaslight you. End the visa scams and send them home.
