Why have the deaths of over 43,000 care home residents at the hands of inept politicians gone off of the news media so quickly? Shouldn't we be hearing about at least two people being taken into custody by now.
BREAKING: Covid inquiry chair, Baroness Heather Hallett, says that action to protect care homes came too late causing it to "spread like wildfire". Live updates: trib.al/rq3oWgR 📺 Sky 501

It used to be 'commies under the bed' that Americans used to fear. And now, in plain sight, its commies in the bed in the Whitehouse. Who saw that coming?

What has the ECHR ever done for us? Quite a lot actually, and we wrote it too.

The Truth used to be something highly valued. It's now been reduced to nothing, just a redundant word in the English language that is utterly meaningless. It's so sad.

Took my dad to a medical test this morning and the facility we went to sends you a QR code that you then scan at a kiosk to do your check-in. They literally had one live person if you didn't use the QR Code system and the line was 30 people deep. My 86-year-old dad uses a flip phone so if I wasn't with him he would have had to wait in that line. And I would say the average age of the person in that line was 80 plus. So we're making all the people with walkers and canes stand in line for an hour to check in. I'm all for embracing technology but this is ridiculous.

Trump: "Because of tariffs, we are taking in hundreds of billions of dollars of profits. It's one of the reasons I can offer, if Republicans win the House and Senate, $5,000 to every adult. We can do it and the Democrats can't, because the Democrats don't have any income."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
A $5,000 payment to every US adult would cost about $1.25 trillion. The government collected $195 billion in customs duties in FY2025. Net tariff revenue turned negative in some months of 2026 due to Supreme Court-ordered refunds. Analyses show tariffs cannot fund it. taxfoundation.org/blog/trump-div… cato.org/news-releases/… usafacts.org/answers/how-mu…

Losing a pet produces grief that is clinically comparable to losing a human family member, and a 2021 study in BMC Geriatrics found that older women who lost a companion animal experienced impacts on their physical health, daily routines, and sense of purpose that lasted for months. The study explored the lived experience of pet bereavement in older women and found themes of profound loneliness, loss of daily structure, and a sense that a piece of their identity had died with the animal. The women described losing not just a companion but a reason to get up in the morning, a reason to walk, and a reason to talk. The grief is often dismissed. "It was just a dog" is a sentence that pet owners hear from people who have never had the relationship, and the dismissal compounds the pain. Disenfranchised grief, the term psychologists use for grief that society does not validate, makes the mourner feel they have no right to their own pain, which delays recovery and deepens isolation. The bond between a person and a pet is not a lesser version of a human bond. Brain imaging studies show that the same regions activated by looking at a photograph of a child are activated by looking at a photograph of a beloved dog. The attachment system does not check species. It checks connection. If you know someone who just lost a pet and you are wondering whether to send flowers or a card, send it. The research says the grief is real, the loss is structural, and the person is mourning something the rest of the world keeps telling them is small. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3442…

What happened #TrumptyDumpty?
Montage of clips of Trump “guaranteeing” that he will end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours of taking office, that “it wouldn’t even be tough” for him to do, and that “everyone will be happy” with the end result.

Very clever - another brilliant performance from the Marsh Family 👏
This is "Stormtroops & Freikorps Again!" - our parody of "Time Warp" from Rocky Horror Picture Show, taking on the topic of the emergence of #PatriotPlatform last week & putting it in an outrageous and glam 👠European context. One of us may have made a mistake towards the end 🤨
