Looking for some large farms cattle feed lots cow calf operations to tour in central Alberta and Saskatchewan. I’m a young farmer from southern Ontario, but I’ve been up in Manitoba for work so decided to go for a little tour on a rain day and see the country.
Trying some drone application to broadcast wheat seed into standing soybeans. Seems to be a nice even pattern, timing is important & its too wet for the air flow today, more rain coming tonight. It getting way more acres / hr than I thought it would.
Is a bit of tip back good or bad? Just wondering if I am not pushing the corn quite hard enough & leaving yield in the field. Majority of our N is from Hog Manure, so its a bit of a guess on correct N top up rate. These were Picked August 30th and no denting in sight
Told my brother 2 days ago- Beans aren't looking too bad this year.
Checked them today & notice some "off looking areas" I check them out & find White Mould.
Doesn't seem to help how we manage against it, just has to come back every Aug & kick my ass. 4 yrs since last beans
We Will be finished up here in a couple days, then he's heading to Starbuck MB to help bring in the harvest there

Fire happened evening of June 8th, insurance has finally started their "Origin & Cause" investigation today on June 26th. Time obviously moves at a different pace in the insurance world than on a farm. New batch of Hogs were scheduled to be in that barn on June 20th.
Finally finished Drought '25 corn, had to piss me off to the end, last pass of crap corn, 1 row for 1 1/8 mile ending at back of farm. '26 Beans going in, let's hope everyone has a better growing season this year.
Anyone need anything brought back to Ontario from the Maritimes next week? Our flat deck will have 25 to 30' of room and about 8 ton of Weight available.
Momma Nature is a bit grumpy this AM, she's taken us from 0 snow to around 5"-6" of real wet snow on the ground this AM. Should help recharge some ground water.
Just received tomorrow's dyed fuel pricing, it's going up another 12.6 cent /L from today. Up almost 21 cents from 15 days ago when we topped everything off when USA & Iran started negotiations. Hopefully it'll come back down for the season.

Been coming down here for a while now, was a gentle snow for a few hours and has been like this for over an hour now. 4" new snow this AM. I just got the last 2 days cleared off the driveways and yards. Any idea when it may back off in southern L & A
The bulls are leaving a groove in the snow when walking around pasture this AM, that's how much snow we recieved since noon yesterday. It's Nice and cozy in their area of the barn, but they are outside dragging their 🍒 through the snow. Not sure it'd be my 1st choice🤷
Warming up nicely, was -30°C at 6:15 when I headed out for chores. It's pretty dang cool for our part of the country, I can hear the bay making ice big time this AM & i am working about 1.25 miles from it currently
These snow flakes are gonna add up, a strong 2.5"- 3" in diameter and explode on impact. A gust of wind picks up for 10 mins and it looks like 2nd & 3rd picture and you can't see 50'.
We'd easily have 5 to 6" on ground since 1PM. Adolphustown ON area @WxOntario1 @LakebreezePWS
