Joe Montana asked to play with Barry Sanders in Detroit. The Lions told him no. He had four Super Bowl rings. And he called the Lions coach himself. The front office turned him down in two words. In the video below, Barry repeats exactly what they said. It was 1993. Montana was leaving San Francisco and wanted one more shot with the best runner in football. Wayne Fontes took it upstairs. He came back with the answer and had to tell Montana no. Montana went to Kansas City instead. That same season, he took the Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game. The best quarterback of his generation and the best runner alive could have shared a backfield. Detroit passed over a birth certificate. On today’s market, Montana’s deal would be worth about $45 million a year. Barry’s, about $42 million. Detroit could have had both. What they really made is in the article below.

Le’Flop at it again. 🤦🏻‍♂️
What a dangerous foul by Paul Reed. No room for that in this league.

STATEMENT FROM JACK CAMPBELL My family and I want to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers, and support we’ve received over the past few days. It means more to us than words can express. I’m incredibly encouraged by the progress I’ve made in such a short period of time. I have full movement in my lower body, and I’m continuing to make progress with movement in my upper body. I know there’s still work ahead, but I remain very optimistic. I’m taking things one day at a time, staying positive, and focusing on getting better. My faith in God has never been stronger. I know He has a plan for me, and I trust in that plan. I know there may be challenges ahead, but with my faith, my family, and so many people in my corner, I know we’ll get through this. I especially want to thank the athletic trainers and medical personnel who responded and cared for me on the field. I know those were difficult moments, and I’m incredibly grateful for the professionalism, compassion, and care you showed me. The way you handled everything and looked after me when I needed it most is something I’ll never forget. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I also can’t say enough about the incredible care I’ve received from the medical team at Henry Ford Hospital and the Detroit Lions medical staff. They’ve been amazing to me and my family throughout this process, and I’m truly grateful for everything they’ve done. To my teammates, coaches, and everyone in the Lions organization, I want you to know how much I love and appreciate you. This team is a family to me, and the way everyone has been there for me means everything. I’m proud to be a Detroit Lion and couldn’t ask to be surrounded by a better group of people. One thing I’ve learned about Detroit is that this city is built on toughness, resilience, and grit. That’s exactly how I’m going to approach this challenge. Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers. We feel the love, and I can’t thank everyone enough. God is good. My faith is strong. Jack Campbell

Last night, Cade Cunningham became the first Point Guard in NBA HISTORY to record 30 PTS, 5 REB, 5 AST & 5 STL in under 30 minutes. SPECIAL TALENT.

Can someone in the main stream media actually figure out that he is elite? @danorlovsky7 @PatMcAfeeShow @wingoz @Espngreeny @dpshow
Since 2022, Jared Goff has 18 games with 300+ pass yards, 2+ pass TDs, and 0 INTs. That's 8 more than any other player over that span.

via @PierreVLeBrun, Dylan Larkin's agent Pat Brisson issued the following statement: “Dylan’s had enough of the situation. We believe he’s been very professional and cooperative through this process.” Let's hear Hockeytown's thoughts on Larkin having had enough ⤵️ #LGRW

MVP Candidate Jared Goff has thrown more touchdowns (14) than he has taken sacks (12), and his next interception will be his first since January. Averaging 9.3 yards/dropback when operating play action.   Reflex has so often been to credit his play callers over the years. Maybe he's just good.

Sweet Lou should be in the HOF
Lou Whitaker played 2,390 games, every one of them for the Tigers. Rookie of the Year, three Gold Gloves, a ring in 1984 and 75 WAR. In 2001 he got 15 votes for the Hall of Fame. That was 2.9 percent, and it knocked him off the ballot after one year. He and Alan Trammell played 1,918 games together, more than any double play partners in American League history. Trammell got his plaque in 2018. Whitaker is still waiting.

$32 billion — the amount of property tax revenue extracted by local governments in 2019. $49 billion — the amount local governments would take in for 2026 if the 2019 baseline had been maintained with increases for population growth and inflation. $62 billion — the actual amount local governments are taking from the people in property taxes in 2026. $84 billion — the amount local governments will take from taxpayers in 2031 based on current trajectory. Yes on 3 — the only way to protect taxpayers and put money back in people’s pockets.

Vote Yes on 3! The passage of Amendment 3 will be the largest property tax relief in a generation. At the same time, local governments will still take in far more in property tax revenue than they would have had revenues merely kept pace with inflation and population growth since 2019.
