My poetry collection, A Café Called Orange, published by @FLPress, is now available on Amazon—tinyurl.com/1pypo81p If you have read the book, please post a review. That would be very helpful. Thank you! Gravitas Poetry said "a distinctive, lyrical voice."

Amazing how Babel occurs again and again in economics, politics, sports That is why the book that records it still holds the number one spot Humans have the tendency when forgetting God to build an idol sky-high Down it comes our frenzy, a pile of rock #sedserio #poetry

Spirits come forth tonight The veil is thin Mirrors show that spectral forms can dwell The stories whispered A flicker in the polished glass There's a movement out of place A fleeting face, look for the signs on Samhain night Watch your mirrors, do not fear The vision they impose

Hunker Down Of comforters there many be: Inherited this and that, and favorite hat. A crackling fire, and birdsong choir. The morning coffee, our glasses to see. A savory stew, hearing aids too. A gentle back rub and steaming tub. An intriguing book, read in window nook. The chair grampa sat, and tawny purring cat. But best of all to me, a kiss from thee. 2023 j

#vss365 #Prompt #Exhilaration Exhilaration blooms
when your eyes meet mine;
even time forgets to breathe The soul needs no wings
when love becomes its sky;
and silence turns to song Perhaps life's greatest rapture
is not possessing a star,
but shining when it departs

If you really want to make your vote count this November, then renounce your party affiliation. Parties can’t take anyone for granted if they don’t know who their voters are. Free Americans have always found the basis of reason in independence. That has been our common sense. Despite our detached and distant situation, the founding purpose of this nation remains to band together when it counts, disrupting old-world hegemonies for the betterment of humankind. I’ve come to understand the Trump era as a timely return to first principles. Two hundred and fifty years after the founding, the history of a people set forth on this continent deserves both reverence and critique. At intervals of consequence, internal turbulence has proved the system’s resilience. The open experiment in human freedom and democracy endures and still casts its righteous might in full view. Americans regret the tone our discourse has reached. Both major parties have dishonored themselves through decades of conduct the public does not forgive. The fact that so many Americans prefer to indict the past rather than acknowledge the sacrifices of their predecessors represents a failure of education. It is absurd that, less than forty years after the fall of Soviet communism, some openly flirt with socialism, cheapen profound words, and tout intifada. Propagandists preying on identity obsessions whip up solidarity for un-nuanced and sometimes vengeful ends, demonizing better angels. The effects of that poison are visible in quarters of despair. An independent voter sees that “Make America Great Again” is not, in itself, an offensive phrase. It is an invitation to take part in the nation’s renewal of founding values. Failing to grasp how far and how fast the country has come, we understate our momentum and mishandle the inheritance. The language of a people forged against fear itself, choosing their own fates as the last best hope on earth, remains available in that slogan. It should not be this difficult for friends, neighbors, and family to find a measure of patriotism. All can share an oath to country over party or faction. Independent voices check excesses and cast decisive votes. Renouncing party affiliation tests the commitment to live by one’s word.

I look back at the miles behind me, stunned by the beauty of who I’m becoming. Healing isn’t a straight road, but even the broken places bloom. I am softer in some ways, stronger in others, and learning to see the beauty in a soul that never stopped trying. Look how far I’ve come. Look how much I’m healing. Look how beautiful it is to finally find pieces of myself I thought I had lost forever. #Miles #WriteMap #bionicanadian #BraveWrite #Vss #Vss365 #WritingCommunity #PoetryCommunity

When I recall good days of the past, they hold power, when I arrange my dreams in a vase for flowers, I leave at least half of the waking hours, and so every day to be for the day itself, on its flow, to do something good so that the goodness might grow. #micropoetry (@SalidaSol)
