My husband is the medical director for the Central Texas Poison Control Center & is on call 24/7/365. In the past 4 days, 100% of his calls have been for carbon monoxide. Layer blankets. Wear 6 pairs of sweats. But please don’t bring fire pits or grills inside or burn furniture.

Apparently, the problem with witnesses is that the @GOPSenate will block any other Congressional business--like funding vaccinations or COVID relief--if Democrats calls witnesses.

I guess it's time to face facts. Neither the Constitution's impeachment mechanism (except for federal judges) nor section 4 of the 25th Amendment (except perhaps for comas) really works.

I realize we’re in the moment and whatever happened just now looms large but the idea that “Dems folded and didn’t call witnesses” is going to be the thing people remember about this episode even days from now is totally nuts, sorry.

The Managers’ initial motion was only for the one witness. Usually getting an agreement that the exact evidence you wanted is relevant and admitted is considered a win, not a capitulation.
